Don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing Pop, but just not necessarily what you would want to pull as you top hit from a $750 mystery box lol. I’m just not a fan of having newer Pops in high dollar mystery boxes.

I love these older rarer figures in theory, there's tons of really awesome ones, but when the values are so high its really playing with fire to engage with them. I started very late, but I have enjoyed collecting in a bit of a different way, lot hunting and clearances exclusively. The average figure price is under 5 after tax/shipping, but I've managed to obtain a whole array of them worth far more then that (real last solds, not PPG)... nothing way up there, but still some in the 40-75 range, which I think is still darn good for spending only 7-15% of that. There's a lot of wiggle room there, and a complete crash would be really bad, but at the same time I probably like to just have them and keep them anyway for 5 bucks. The mystery boxes are generally a slight discount, so you're really really trusting that they maintain or gain after to make it worthwhile, and IDK if that is a reasonable expectation at least in the short term while all collectibles are down, as people rn are often in desperate spots making them part with their collections thus driving the prices down.

It’s been a double edged sword holding on to mystery boxes in the past but in more recent months it’s been definitely rough. Clint (Franchise Kicks) has been finding that out every video lately. He mentioned that he has a year’s supply of mystery boxes for videos to go through. That’s got to be tough on flippers when there’s such a significant drop in an investment.

Yeah, I saw Clint was opening some old boxes. Pop values just continue to drop, so it’s rough holding anything for a long period of time. This box was just a bummer because value got crushed and the hit was a newer pop. It happens though so hopefully better luck next time. I still love PKPs boxes.

The drop in value stinks. This would've been a box for me minus the Moon Knight. The rest would've been keepers. Favorite is definitely John Wick, since we already have Maul.

Yeah, the drop in value definitely hurt lol. I usually avoid expensive mystery boxes that have Pops released within the last 1-2 years just because I know values can fluctuate drastically. This mystery box appealed to me because the odds of getting something a bit older were pretty good, but luck just wasn’t on my side this time around.

PPG is finally getting prices closer to where they are. its not so much that prices have gone down, its more that PPG had them inflated for so long

Yep, totally agree. It’s been crazy watching PPG lately and seeing certain Pops drop down so drastically, but I agree it seems more accurate. There’s definitely some that are still off, and I’ve even noticed some that I think are undervalued (never thought I’d say that lol).

Wow that one really did hurt!! That does really suck and I know it is just how it is with the values right now but I feel these companies should make sure if they are doing extremely high cost boxes that the big hit of every box should be pops that are long termed settled in pricing and never a pop that is almost guaranteed to fluctuate so heavily. PKP definitely gets in enough rare and established pops in order to make sure a $750 box would hold the value. Just my opinion

Totally agree. I was really hoping for something wheee the value was already pretty solid, so this was definitely pretty disappointing especially since the other two hits were Pops that are frequently faked. I bought into this box because I thought the odds were pretty good that I would get something older, but then of course I ended up with something newer lol. That’s the way it goes sometimes but definitely a bummer lol.

Haha yeah I have awful luck with mystery boxes. In all the boxes I’ve opened on the channel, I think I only hit a top row type hit ONE time lol. With Sodas I’ve been much luckier, but I’m due for some good luck with a Pop mystery box 😂

Yep, it’s a combination of 1) covid collectors who bought a ton of stuff are now exiting and 2) Funko has made decisions about the direction of their business that are turning off long time collectors.

I dont think i would be happy with this outcome of this box..and with john wick being highly faked its hard to sell it at ppg same with the blacklight carnage or any fake pop thats a grail. sad about mual my spiderman dropped a lot since everyone is selling off every pop they own now days...but i will say this is another video that really shows why you shouldn't buy a mystery box from paul or his wife. btw your logo is super sweet

Yeah, the bummer is that a lot of the other possible hits have held their value because they’re older. The Maul is still pretty new so it was bound to drop especially since it’s 2k pieces. But that’s the risk with mystery boxes lol. And yeah, I’ve seen Clint opening a lot of older boxes lately and it doesn’t usually pan out very well lol.
