I watch a lot of reviewers (Northrop, Fro, Mark G, etc) but when it comes to Sony APS-C information, there is no one I trust more than you - as an a6600 (and formerly a6000) shooter, this is my favorite channel, bar none. I know you're a "ultrawide fanboy" but I am hoping you'll go in the other direction and do a review of the best long zooms for the a6xxx series. We're dying to see a comparison between the Sony 70-350 and the Sigma 100-400, along with the other long-zoom alternatives. The burning question: is the Sony 70-350 better for the a6xxx series because it's made specifically for APS-C, or do the other alternatives perform just as well (looking at you Sigma 100-400)? What's the best choice for us crop shooters? Help us Arthur R, you're our only hope! (said in my best Leia voice)

Well, It might be the video resolution but in fact on the photos at 6:19 I really don't see any differences between the APSC lens "wom" and the Gmaster zoom lens as far as picture quality. Maybe you need to shoot other specific photos to convice at least me not buying it for sure but to be impressed... Anyway another great video. Thanks Arthur!

the 12-24 F2.8 GM is now on discount on BH's website for students/teachers/administrators via their EDU Discount. There is an APSC equivalent... the very old Sigma 8-16 4.5-5.6 and needs to be used with Metabones V EF to E mount adapter BUT the older Sigma HSM motor is loud and makes the same/similar noise as the Sigma 18-35 on MC-11 adapter. It's like a constant focusing and aperture change...

Excellent video as always :) For APS-C I think there is the Meike 6.5mm fisheye but it's not rectilinear. There are also a fisheye C-mount lens that can be adapted on Sony E-mount APS-C but of course you'll have to crop some of the sensor. Wide angle budget lenses are kinda limited for APS-C 😅

IT is a Great Lens, BUT when capturing stars and using NPF rule of just 9.41s at 12mm on A7iii and reviewing at max you will see elongated stars in corners even down to 2s!!! Well it is pincushion distortion (very slight) but can be corrected in Capture One can blend a before and after in ON1 or PS. Beware also at 12mm elongated windows and doors at sides best to do a pano at 24mm or 50mm to get a real "EYE" look! OK, for landscape a pano look but in 3:2 ratio. You have to look at the sides and top and bottom, lights and fans above will twist and turn if off center. Best with subject up close with a lot of background, have to train your eye and see and plan a shot. A 50ft tree looks small just 20 yards away. I have played with the 1018 at 12mm in FF, the f4 for years the f/2.8 is the perfect spot all faster lenses are used at f/2 or 2.8 anyway due to coma in corners but are gone at 2.8 so a very good buy!!!! Great for MW pano rainbow capture with fewest shots.

@Arthur Sony 16-55 2.8 vs Sony 18-135 thats will be an interesting comparison
@taekwon-do4life6674 жыл бұрын
For 99.9% 16-55 is the best choice or even the 18-105/135 to be always on lens. 12-24 or 20mm are way too expensive. And you wont use the whole 3000€ out of it.
@AenaryonIII4 жыл бұрын
Max ettel yeah bro but how does it perform the IQ on the 16 55 wide open against the 18-135?
@stefano82744 жыл бұрын
Those are a very diferent kind of lenses. The 18 135 is a PERFECT travel/walk around lens. Long zoom range, sharp, small and very versatile. The 16 55 costs 2,5x as much, is sharper, faster but is far less versatile. Also bulkier, heavier and not stabilized. In my opinione a great lens, but more niche
