A Big Mac meal here in Arkansas in the States is about $10, if you dont upsize it, so yes it is still more expensive, but we arnt paying $6 or 7.

Okay a little late to the entire comment thing.But just wfter you orderd you said the price: 38,70. And you mentiones theres tax aswell. One thing about switzerland ( like most european states ) is that the tax is already includet in the final price. So the 38.70 is with tax includet

I just came back from Switzerland McDonald's and the difference is they make everything fresh unlike the US Mc Donald's which mass produces burgers and stored so the burger is not as fresh in America. Also had the apple pie and it was like a homemade slice of apple pie, instead of the gross flat apple pie we get in America.

that's not true, i'm from switzerland and here all the mc items come from the freezer. if everything was made fresh it wouldn't be fast food and they could not keep up with the demand.

Hi Really A Big Mac meal here in Victoria BC is $15 Cn and not all the Mac stores here honnor equal pricing Here in Victoria BC you need to spend about $1200 per month on food alone for two people .

As an Indo-Swiss i find this very offensive, especially when it comes from people in the west, i can understand folks from south asia, latin america as the currency is very low compared to value but americans coming here and complaining about food being expensive is just not right. If you have come to switzerland that means you can afford it besides the currency is almost on par with the CHF, besides minimum wage in Zurich is 23 a hour compared to america which is probably 16 or 17$. Finally why would anyone come to Switzy and look for macdonalds, i mean havent you americans had enough of that in your own country. My advice to anyone visiting switzerland is please carry some of the main essentials that you tend to have on a regular basis eg : pre made tea or coffee, nuts, raisins, it will keep your energy going durin g the day when you are travelling. The other day i heard another couple complaining they spent 150$ on a burger meal in grindelwald, what do you expect??? Its Grindelwald, you are asking for it when you go to places like Grindelwald, St Mortiz or Gstaad.

For McDonalds it’s definitely pricier than in other countries especially the US where you can get a burger for around $3-$5 and free ketchup!

@Sean & Sandy yea I'm an American and just moved back to the US from Germany. The prices of food in the US now is just as high or higher including fast food. Maybe McDonald's at this location is a dollar more for a burger (which isn't really expensive), but they aren't paying $4+ for a dozen of the cheapest eggs like we are now in the US

Welcome back to the US! Germany in comparison to Switzerland is much more affordable, we just left Germany as well and it’s shocking how much cost of living differs from Switzerland even though the countries have a lot of similarities. In Texas where we live, Big Mac meals are under $8 whereas Switzerland was upwards of $13. I’d say that’s a huge difference. There’s also a Big Mac index that is published yearly and it has consistently shown Switzerland at the top for pricing followed by Scandinavian countries. EU countries are further down the list with countries such as Uruguay, Lebanon, and Israel proving to be more expensive. Plus they charge for every condiment in Switzerland which felt a bit too much from what we are accustomed to in the US. Thanks for watching!
