Add an adoption page to your website. Adopt a guppy or goldfish to Brutus levels with different fish in between. Set it up to pay for a month or year of food. My local zoo has similar programs. Fun way to raise donations. They send an info kit with coffee cups, plush or clothes depending on level

So many amazing monster fish at OFR, but their Ara-Arapaimas are my most absolute favorite and it’s a real treat when they make vids about them, especially in such a dope pool pond. Never seen anything like it outside of OFR. Let’s just live vicariously through OFR and let the professionals care for this breed. Sunny SoCal keepin’ it fishy🐠☀️🏝

I feed the 240 gallon of large Rainbow fish beefheart and also one large shrimp that lasts about three days. Plus top quality flake and pellet foods. It's enough spent! Aren't some of the pool fish destined for public aquaria one day or are you lifetime keepers?
@jasonmayer9879 Жыл бұрын
what do you think the proper size tank should be for a South American red tailed cat?
@Whips_World Жыл бұрын
2000 gallons is the usual answer to this question, but really, when they get to be full size, they can make a 2000 gallon tank look small.

I don't know if it would be suitable for the Arapaimas. Couldn't you try them on Muzuri Croc Diet as that is for large freshwater predators which might keep the cost down on the food.

It is ridiculous that people like predatory fins import these fish (as well as many other species of giant fish) the way they do and will just sell those fish to anybody. I use to watch predatory fins channel but stopped watching it awhile ago because I can't support somebody like that.

Yeah I was on there saying that too I seen his video and I commented the same saying what he said about you guys if you're not a fish rescue or you you know aren't a millionaire you shouldn't own them because it takes a lot of money to just have one of them yeah they're cute in the fish aquarium when they're little and then they just start growing and people don't know what to do with them so the fish pays the price that's not right
@PatrickForget-y3u Жыл бұрын
The arapaima is my favorite fish of all times and personally you shouldn't be able to have one unless you can prove that you can actually take care of it you have the tank you have the means of feeding it and the whole nine yards because those fish pay the price when people can't find nobody to take them and who the hell is going to take a 4-ft arapaima there aren't too many people that have a tank that can fit them or a pool pond in their house so yeah I wish they'd just quit selling same with pacu

*This is a fake AI generated pool with fish because those arapaimas haven't eaten the gars and cichlids or aren't even trying to eat them. A real arapaima would have gulped them all down long ago since they aren't big enough to not fit through their mouths.*
@ohio-fish-rescue Жыл бұрын
You are so wrong . As many ,many people have been here and seen the fish and pool .
@alansurgeoner5259 Жыл бұрын
You are joking surely with that comment? Unless you think that Greg whitstock and Edd pond proffessor are CGI as well because they have been and scaped the pool and swam with the AI fish on a few occasions. There are quite a few people who have swam with the fish just go through OFR backlog of videos. Josh is joking about food tho as a tub of fish flakes feed the pond for a week ,lol
@DongWang-m4n Жыл бұрын
@@alansurgeoner5259 *What I should have said is that the fish are AI , and not the pool itself because Arapaimas are gluttonous as hell and always hungry. They're appetites are never satiated in home aquaria because of their enormous size and if they were real, all those smaller fish wouldn't exist. It's like seeing an exhibit of Lions at the zoo with a bunch of baby Impala hopping around them.*
@GloomyRaccoon_11 ай бұрын
If you've ever been to an aquarium you would see that larger predatory fish are often kept with smaller fish that could be prey. The reason it works out is because they are being fed more than enough in captivity to not feel the need to predate.
