The problem with the dogbone tank is how low it is, it's more like a pond...The datanoid looked 100% more impressive once he was 'upgraded'
@Demon-mi3rv11 ай бұрын
The problem with the dogbone tank is that you can't see/appreciate the fish. I've always wanted a better look at that Adonis pleco! If you're going to rebuild/reseal it and make a new stand, it needs to be a much taller stand, 3 or 4 feet tall, which would give you lots more storage space underneath and perfect viewing height. I don't like it in that spot either. I'd rather see your new idea go in that spot.

But you know far better than me on what works in your fishroom. :) Thanks for always sharing the good and bad parts of being fishkeepers. I do not remember from the build video, but is there a floor drain in that room to catch and drain some of the water when it gets to the floor?

Well, it's something different to make a video about, but probably not what BigRich had in mind. Glad it was caught in time. What about a series of videos called OFR Spotlight or something, that's like a deep dive each time about a different species. You could cover all kinds, from nano to monster. Where do they come from? What's their natural habitat like? What do they eat? What eats them? Any interesting characteristics? Considerations/warnings for keeping them? Fish they play well with / fish they'll attack / fish they'll be attacked by? Could be interesting.

With OFR already maxing out its available floorspace, the weird shallow dogbone footprint has become an inefficient use of that area. It served its purpose for long enough. Maybe offer the pieces to someone as a rehab project if they will come to take it away. I'm happy all the fishy residents are safely housed in other tanks now. It probably wouldn't take much to rehab the dogbone material into a shallow vivarium for someone with amphibious pets and enough open floor area. Dogbone theme - corporate pet food brands looking for a centrepiece attraction in their building lobby?? Any takers?

Hope that catfish leaves the pleco alone. Personally im not keen on the dogbones, lot of floorspace per volume of water - you could get 1 huge or 2 slim but deep tanks in there. Incidentally is that 2 wooden framed tanks that have gone in a few week's ? Have you checked thats definitely only a coincidence?

Idea...with a taller stand, could the dogbone tank be used as the PERFECT tank for the electric eel? I'd like to see him have more room, maybe a sand bottom and some big pipes to swim thru. Only thing I wonder about is if the tank isn't DEEP enough for him, looks shallow?

Well Josh....I got to see your CRACK again. At 7:01, 7:06, and at 9:30 something, I think. You either need smaller jeans or you're wife needs to learn how to make country cookin'. That's basically everything fried in bacon grease. Oh and gravy made with bacon grease and your veggies either fried in bacon grease or seasoned with it, too. AND you have to smother EVERYTHING with the gravy. Oh and don't forget the homemade biscuits. Ya got to have them to. Plus ya got to season the beans with bacon grease and put it in the iron skillet so your cornbread don't stick and make sure you fry your taters in bacon grease to. Now that's the food that'll put some meat on your bones. LMAO
