Just sketching out a pipe dream trip to the terminus of the Pan-American highway, shipping my Jeep from Panama to Colombia...and continuing down to Lapataia, Argentina. This crossing of the Darien is probably closer to 5-6k USD now. One day...I might find myself tossing it all away and going for it...

It isn't always easy, or even possible, to legally buy (and insure) a vehicle in a country where you are only there on a short term visa. Most countries insist you be there on some sort of long term visa, to be a resident.
