Hey professor. I'm new to Magic. I got intrested by seeing you introduce yugioh players to magic. I like it alot, it's a new card game for me to learn. I've been playing for almost 2 weeks now and I'm Gold Tier 1 in MTGA. I haven't been passed that yet but I'm already seeing the similarities between the card games as I rank up. There are people that still try to not let you play Magic. Just like purple on yugioh try to stop you from playing the game yugioh. It seems sometimes that people are putting 50% of thier decks things like (Murder) and (Planar) destroy and exile cards. Then 25% is Lands And 25% creatures. While I brick for multiple turns, just to lay a creature to be exiled, this happens like 5 times in a row sometimes. My question is, do you think it's MTGA issue or is it my deck? Because I don't have all the cards I need yet to build a good deck? Is; 25% Lands 25% Creatures 50% Disruption Is this the correct formula for a meta deck? I think I’ve come to realize what Magic: the Gathering has become. World of Warcraft. Each new modern horizon is like an expansion, promising super powerful cards your deck or character surely needs to stay competitive. Inbetween, there are patch updates or new sets, each one giving boosts in power, but only slightly. And then there are the add ons, transmogs that make your character or decks pretty, aka secret lair. This is just video games but even more expensive.

Magic does come with the added benefit of being a physical collectible that could appreciate in value over time, though. Nobody should expect to make all of their money back by selling their collection, but at least you could recoup some of the costs. The remainder would have been money spent on devoting your time to working on a hobby you enjoy and making memories playing the game with friends, so it all evens out in the end.

Did you see that there's also retro frame reprints of MH2 cards, like Ragivan and Esper Sentinel. I believe that they're only found in collector boosters however.

This is the first time I’ve looked at cards for this set, been kinda out of the loop lately. I’m gonna go on the hunt for bargains on those fetchlands for sure, and a copy of Cephalid Coliseum. Ooh the _Tower_ too. Double Masters was my “artifact” set where I bought the expensive artifacts I always dreamt of, this seems to be the “Land” set for me.

@awskater5899 part of it is the increased shipping costs. Part of it is that the tax is already included in the price. I'll have to see what the retailers sell the collector boosters for locally, but considering they're 44.99 online, I wouldn't be surprised if they were 49.99 (or more) in the store. So $50, tax included, for a collector booster is actually pretty reasonable. Don't just accuse people of gouging simply because you don't understand the economics.

reason windswepth heath has been cheaper, was due to it's inclusion in the dragons of tarkir theme deck, that where overprinted and available at 16 bucks including several other relevant to standard cards and a other 10+ card (well it was back then). Heath then even dipped below 6 bucks in europe for a while.

Actually, there are some who would be sad by cracking fetches. Specifically me. I'd much rather get Ajani, Grist, Urza's Incubator, the Eldrazi titans, and the Eldrazi land, than fetches. Might be that Fetches are useful in magic decks, but if I got any, they'd just go straight in my trade folder. I don't much care about hyper-optimizing my land base. Slow lands and snow lands, and pain lands are plenty fine for me.
