as a complete normie to BG3 and plays the game as intended i cannot even comprehend whats going on in this video, it's complete chaos. how are they nuking things by throwing bodies at them, how are they carrying bodies around as ammo without getting encumbered. could someone attempt to explain some of the exploiting going on here. i am in confusion.

hey, so.. I probably can't explain everything going on, but I can clear up the two things you mentioned. Carrying and using bodies as weapons isn't actually an exploit, for one. The game engine uses a lot of real world-relatable physics, so in this case 'things' have weight, and the higher up you are when you drop a 'thing', the more damage you will do. You can throw heavier things based on how much strength you have, so... strong character throw heavy thing from high place does big damage (I'm not being patronising, that's how I remember it myself). There are other ways to increase the damage even further, like the Tavern Brawler feat, but that's a longer conversation and explained better in so many other places. There's also an interaction where dropping/throwing something from a height can cause the item to bounce and deal damage a second time. You can see it at 7:53 when I accidentally KO'd Shadowheart after throwing a spear at an adjacent goblin. As for encumbrance, it is a constant balancing act. Karlach was wearing armour that doubles her carrying capacity, and the entire group are high strength builds, so their carry capacity is high anyway. We specced all our characters to have 8 strength, then Miss Milkers uses a club that sets her strength to 19 while it's equipped, and the rest of us use elixirs of Hill Giant Strength to set our strength to 21 until we long rest. Mostly we carry bombs, potions, arrows, and rats, and have a lot of carry weight to play with, but even then it's a constant balancing act moving bodies between inventories so we're not encumbered. Also, yeah...it was chaotic. The result of each of us having between 800 and 2000 hours in the game, I suppose lol. Hopefully that helped a bit!

@@irontoof Thankyou so much for taking the time explaining some of this stuff to me😭i'm still on my first playthrough and nearing the end at max level so it was just baffling to me how you guys were hitting harder than i do with my max lvl sorc at like lvl 5 lol this was honestly so fun to watch, absolute chaos, you all clearly understand the mechanics and technical stuff very deeply so to me it's literally like seeing magic.

Soooo...this is extremely niche, but for anyone who is wondering (like me) what melee weapon Karlach is wielding at 11:29: It's the Returning Pike, which is rare in HM. I couldn't find it in the wiki, because it's listed as uncommon there. The only item that I could find, that has the same icon is "Breaching Pikestaff", which is only obtainable in Act 3.

hey, so it's a bit of a process, but Ev does it on most of her streams so you could check the Act 1 vods. The really short version is; talk to Nettie and take the tadpole off her desk, have 1 person spawn Raphael normally, exit the convo by swapping to another character, shoot him, he should pop out of dialogue and vanish, then he'll show up and force a long rest when you leave the map to go to Act 2, cast Silence, bonk (need to have non-lethal toggled)

@@NovelVanguard you're welcome. Also, it's just the way it works. You can't actually kill him, but if he has 1HP you get the loot, if he has 0HP you do not, I have no idea why. You do have to loot him while he's prone on the ground, so loot him quickly because he does get up

@@NovelVanguard fiends cannot be destroyed on the prime material plane. They disappear and reform on their home plane. That's how Yurgir goes back to Avernus. (Yes, the merregorns, Yurgir and the cambions drop loot anyway, mainly because they were designed to be fought in act 1/2)
