You can support CDH UK directly here: cdhuk.org.uk/support-us/ You can support the Sick Children's Trust directly here: www.committedgiving.uk.net/sickchildrenstrust/ I misspeak in this video, incorrectly saying that the 1/200 infant mortality rate is 5%. It is 0.5%.

Daughter was born a month premature. Her lungs were weak and she suffered from high levels of bilirubin. She nearly died the day after she was brought home. Wife did CPR on her and got her back. Took her to hospital where she was placed in a tank with ultraviolet light (phototherapy) in an effort to get her liver to start working. I forget how many days we stayed in the hospital. I don't try to think of those days. Today my baby girl is a D&D playing college student. Vote to make sure Healthcare is available to everyone and not just those with money, fame, and political status. Same here. I nearly lost my wife and daughter during childbirth due to pre-eclampsia. Maxed out on three blood pressure medicines and still hitting 190-110, and then dropping not a minute later to 90-30, and the bpm for my daughter dropped below 30. The room filled with doctors who ripped everything out of the walls and took them both out, without saying a word to me about what was happening. All I could do was sit down and focus on breathing, because I knew if I moved I'd do something I'd regret, even though it was no one's fault.

The infant mortality statistics reported by countries is according to their own standards. Those standards vary greatly from nation to nation. If the world had to report using U.S.A's standards, We would be near the lowest in terms of mortality. China for example doesn't not consider the following circumstances as live births or count in their census data. 1. Death within 24 hours of birth 2. Miscarriages 3. Abortions (forced or otherwise).
@StormTheSquid

@@popecj29people have this weird perception that America is a developed nation and thus can't have the problems of starvation, infant mortality, etc. but that's a facade. We'd probably still be awful even if everyone used the same standards. Edit: Also, 2 and 3 aren't live births, so they shouldn't be considered as such, regardless of whatever your political stance on the latter is.

We had care-giving in agenda as an item of discussion at the United Nations the previous week... Different countries have different ideas of what care-giving is and who a care-giver is, but we should have no divergences on the matter. Healthcare must be free for those who cannot afford it. This is a state's responsability currently carried out by NGOs (in the US). Hope your family and the kids all good. Those rolls should be done only with the dices on a table. I love your videos - my DM and the rest of my party love them too. We could tell you're funny, charismatic, creative, articulate, and smart. But now we know you're also kind and sensible and immensely respectable. You're a good man.

The obvious caring and generosity of your character is the main reason that I watch you. I’m so happy for your nephews and hope they have long productive lives. I’m sure that it will happen because of the palatable love in your family.

As a twin, I cant imagine living without him. If I knew he had died in the womb a big part of me would be missing. So glad to have him around. Happy that your family got to grow!

Wil, you had me on the first half. I am glad your intuition was correct and both babies were fine and Atticus is recovering well. I have 3 young kids myself and one just born this year, they're truly little precious ones. May health and good fortune follow you all further into the future.

Thanks for sharing openly about this. I've known many families who have lost children from the womb or in early days. It's a good thing for us to understand and be able to talk about.

I am so happy for your sister and your family and the twins. You're bang on about being lucky. My daughter died this past April from compliations due to a premature rupture of membranes. She was three hours old. When we asked the doctors what we could have done, they said there was nothing. Most prenatal complications are just random. A lot of them are fatal. Good healthcare can even the odds dramatically. Thank you for talking about this. And again, I am so happy for your family. That is such a gift and a joy.
