12k can easily hold it own in woodland environments. Have had one of these for about a year, ran it on Airtac hpa adapter as like everything with new tm products mags are like rocking horse. Blind I could get a handful of the 90 round mags I’d sack the adapter off. Tempted to pick up the sbs one as a spare/loaner. 12k works best on .32 sends them 60m min, sbs from what I’ve been told doesn’t have the range that the 12k does but it’s not a massive difference.

I have been running the 12k on Hpa for the last 6months without so much as a hitch. It loves heavier rounds and so it’s fed a diet of .32’s too which I can confirm it like to lob them a huge distance with a close spread to the bb pattern. The biggest issue has been getting after market handguards to mount tactical kit and sights onto but that side of the things has now picked up as supply no longer out strips demand. I’ve cut down my outer barrel down to reduce overall length and with the stock folded it’s really quite easy to wield In a CQB environment but utilised that amazing range when out for a skirmish. They really are a decent dual roll rif that I can recommend.

Off topic but i just ordered an aap01 from your website its my first gun is there anything I need to know about and is there a specific green gas I should use

I would personally use lower-powered green gas to start with as your AAP-01 is currently stock and has no upgrades. Generally, the lower the power of the gas, the more lubricant it has inside. However, if you decide to use a more powerful gas it may be worth purchasing some airsoft maintenance gas, which has a high level of silicon in it, and run it through the gun every so often. It is recommended that when storing green gas airsoft magazines for periods of time that you leave a little bit of gas in the magazine, in order to keep the seals lubricated and prevent dust and dirt from getting inside the magazine. Generally, the most frequent and essential airsoft maintenance you will have to carry out will be to ensure that the seals in the magazine (which keep the gas in) are lubricated. When choosing a lubricant, ensure it is 100% silicone oil, as others may cause swelling or failure. You will need to lubricate the gas route bucking (rubber part behind the feed-lips), the fill valve (generally on the bottom of the magazine) and the release valve (generally a gold-coloured button on the rear of the magazine). Adding a small amount of either silicone lubricant spray or neat silicone oil will keep these surfaces and the o-rings in the gun fresh and ready for use. Coupled with keeping the magazine with a small amount of gas in at all times, carrying out this basic maintenance can make the difference between victory and disappointment. It is also recommended that you field strip your GBB pistol or rifle replicas and lubricate the moving parts of the replica, particularly areas where metal contacts metal such as slide and frame rails and between the inside of the slide and outer barrel. There are a couple of different ways you can do this. The easiest method is to use silicone oil spray, a quick squirt inside (hold the jokes!) on the moving parts, avoiding the hop-up unit, cycle the gun a few times by hand and it should have enough lubricant to keep it running sweet for another skirmish. The areas to focus on will be the hammer group (towards the rear of the lower frame), trigger parts (you know where) and the blowback unit/nozzle in the upper slide. You can also make use of silicone grease on the frame/slide rails for even smoother cycling but beware, this will need to be cleaned off and re-applied regularly. This is due to its propensity to attract and capture dirt and debris to a greater extent than silicone spray or oil. I generally use an extremely thin coating of grease on the slide/frame rails and on the inside of the slide where it contacts the outer barrel, and silicone spray for the hammer group and gas seal parts (magazine, Blowback Unit, o-rings). This should be done after every skirmish or extended firing session to keep your GBB airsoft weapon running smoothly.
