It's (in my opinion) a great way to put in content in the game. Pick a fan favourite, make it a challenge and give lots of rewards. And to top it all off, AI will absolutely never get to use this mission tree because otto is so much stronger at the beginning so it doesn't influence your game when you play some other tag.

I’m glad Florence is in the video, I love playing tall and I love playing in Italy and Florence has some excellent modifiers and the mission tree is small but good size and don’t need to scroll, although in Eu5 I might become indecisive whether to play as them or trading Republic of Pisa (who were annexed by Florence in 1406)

I love Florence! If you are lucky enough to grab Sienna quickly, it’s basically cheat mode from there. Nothing like being always ahead in tech, 100% innovation, awash in PP and cash. It’s awesome.

A fun thing and probably the reason I love Aragon so much in EU4 is their Ambition when you finish your third idea - +1 artillery fire. By tech 11/12 depends on how quickly you finish your third idea group, you will basically have the strongest armies by far if you have a full back row of artillery(if you can afford it, but as Aragon money is no trouble) for over 50 years.

I did a one tag, one faith, one culture as Byzantium in this patch. It has been the most fun game I have played. After the hard start, they get insanely strong. I can realy recomend them, if you like playing the underdog.

Gotland is the most fun nation to me. All 3 missions tree are great. I absolutely love starting as a duchy start getting those ducats, preparing myself to war, grab curb the estates if lucky enough then switch back to plutocratic republic and form Hanseatic League. Also had a colonial Gotland fetishist run and claiming Mandate of Heaven by 1540 which was really fun :), possibilities are endless with this nation and its last mission. Definitely love Majapahit aswell with Khmer. I also wish some indian countries had their mission trees updated as they are heavily focused on granting CBs and nothing else ( beside mewar actually requiring to dev and build some stuff )

best ones imo are colonial nations. like portugal. they will colonize while being your subject and once you annex them you get their colonies.

I think that mission trees is what makes different runs of the same country more similar not the other way around. It makes countries feel different from one another though but at the same time it also tends to make countries overpowered which killed the joy of the game for me.

For me it's also funny that you can create Byzantium by playing Poland. I also wish that if you would play Riga that you could become a colonial empire by wanting trade (simalar what the Brits did and portugese).

I wish they added the ability for Bulgaria and Serbia to also form the Byzantines once the Byz fall to the Ottos, as those countries basically claimed the title of emperor for themselves. Another thing that baffles me, is why are we allowed to culturally shift accepted cultures to our own culture? Shouldn't we be disallowed from that? Or at least have +25% culture conversion cost from accepted cultures to another?

Honestly as byz when you get back to the peak roman borders you should be able to change trade nodes so like English Channel would no longer be a end node it could flow into the France nodes and then into Genoa and then in Ragusa and then Constantinople which should be changed to a end node
