Dillon only tighten drag when bass pauses keep drag set to 4lbs so the striper doesn't feel the resistance. Once striper pauses tighten drag like 2 to 3 turns max an reel the second it pauses start reeling. Let rod flex to wear down the striper keep rod tip high so there's a deep bend in the rod an tires striper out.

Amazing! I fished the Jersey shore from LBI to Avalon since I was a small boy in the early 70's and 80's. Lived in Brigantine and went to Stockton. Spent 1000's of hours on the beach and never caught anything bigger than blues, skates, dogfish and small stripers. You are a very lucky young man. Always used bloodworms though (never clams:( ) The striper population back then was destroyed from the inshore gill net fishery in the 60's. So glad to see it has recovered so well today in the 2020's!! You are a very lucky man.

I’m 58. I’ve been fishing since I was 8. You only get a handful of days like that in your lifetime…when it all comes together. Congrats. I lived in Montana most of my life but I recently moved to the Chesapeake Bay Area. I’m watching videos trying a learn a thing or two about strippers and blues. Thanks for video…very enjoyable to watch and you show the most important aspect to being a successful fisherman…time on the water. Just keep casting and good things will come.

Epic, epic day of striper fishing that you don’t often see in this area. Dillon, you have jumped to the top of the fishing KZbinr’s videos that I can’t wait for the next vid to come out primarily because you do the surf, bridges, jetties…old school, your local and more frequent than many others. Keep up the great work and don’t change. And best of all…it’s a great sign of striper presence in the area.

Not only great fishing but great content buddy. I like the explanation of the conditions and getting the full experience with the bait shop and all. And good on you for doing your due diligence with running those big tired fish to the beach for a good revival and release. And getting your buddies hooked up on good fish as well. With your age and passion you should really try getting yourself into some avenue of products or merch. Not only will it help your income streams but will give future potential investors or sponsors more confidence. After writing this giant comment I remembered you're already working on it with the glasses. Haha

Wow that is bank beast! Way to go! We used to fish those rocks back in the 80s when I live in Pemberton, I live in Texas now and we got a striper lake nearby largest I ever got was 34". The lake used to have 40" fish but couple years back the floods washed out many of them. You guys have no problems getting those +45s from the bank. Just stay safe on those rocks, I have seen way too often people wiping out and breaking ankles.
