bro this show is one of the best pieces of videographic art I have expected. Great video i pretty much experienced the same thing you have i watched season 1 for a second time before watching season 2 and these themes hit so hard i cried, i cheered and i borderline loved these characters. this lore surpasses the game of league of legends. p.s. only thing close is the original evangelion neogenesis and something which might be due to my love for the franchise by cyberpunk edge runners had less depth but the sorrow i felt after the ending had me shook for months

It sucks to say, but being associated with League is a barrier to entry for a lot of people, my friends included. It's a shame, because theres something for everyone in this show.

Victor reminds me a lot of Father from FMAB both beings who transcended humanity. Which is why I love how it’s the combined efforts of humanity that lead to them being defeated. It’s the friends and the connections that allow for their defeat. And in a funny twist it’s their own humanity/sin that was the final reason they were defeated.

One issue a have with Viktor's character story has to do with his ability to travel back in time. If you think about all the ways he could've manipulated the events throughout time in the story to rectified his mistake, you realize that the way he went about it as presented in the story was insanely counterproductive

i think most people dont realise viktor's arc was about allowing people to have free will or choice despite the harm humanity can or will cause. yes theres a million ways to stop the future but very few that would let him do it without taking a life or directing someones life without giving them a choice

what’s more beautiful than a perfectly knitted story? the fact that it can inspire people to fall in love with analysis again. thank you for this video! personally, i had a lot of disappointments with this season, but i think most of my disappointments come from the expectations i had that were set up by the first season, and im having trouble deciding whether or not that’s valid from a critical perspective or not; and i think it will take me a long time to decide lol. either way, im happy it exists

Me too, but overall I think some people are hating on it too much now. Let me break it down a little: Season 2 did a complete 180 with its tone and centre focus, whilst also carrying way too many different plots that fit into a 40 minute runtime, therefore making it feel rushed. It also intentionally or unintentionally centred on a plot driven story rather than a character driven story, making it jarring and a slightly unfamiliar show compared to the first season. One thing to mention; if the community tells you that it’s objectively bad by giving examples or analogies regarding events in the second season, remember that it all links back to it feeling rushed, or having wasted potential. The story, regardless of what’s good writing, worked because a whole part of the community loved it, so don’t let it discourage you from what you actually enjoyed

That analysis was AWESOME and beautifully articulated points i hadn't considered like the self-sacrifice, so if you ever do more analysis videos of arcane i WILL be tuning in. Another point which adds to your argument about Viktor's defeat being satisfying because its his own humanity overcoming his own transedence, is Jayce's final speech. The words which reach Viktor aren't ones of reprimand for what he's done, any malice about he's a monster and must pay otherwise he'll die alone and hated. Instead they are words of affirmation. Jayce geniunely believed and accepted that he would die and his last words were going to be the affirmation that he sees beauty in imperfections because thats what make someone human. Because it is challenge and adversity that builds character and shaped viktor into someone jayce admired. Jayce looked at a perfectionist, transcendent deity in the face and told it what he has and always admired their perseverance throughout very human struggles. The fact that throughout death, disease and disability, Viktor was someone so loving and driven and altruistic. And so as Viktor dies, his glorious evolution unfinished, his credit and legacy for hextech erased by elitist archivists, he dies with more conviction, companionship and love than the little boy with a boat ever could have dreamed of.
