Because you cant clinch nor elbow, which are superlek strenghts. Takeru should try muay thai.

Most Muay Thai fighters begin their journey to earn a living due to poverty. Their victories come from rigorous training and guidance from the gym in fighting, self-defense, and survival skills. They never boast about being more skilled or stronger than others; instead, they focus on maintaining physical and mental readiness, which is built upon harsh experiences and the hardships faced by their families.

Takeru has the heart of a Samurai 🇯🇵 🎉🎉🎉 Great fighting skills and power of Superlek.. the pride of Thailand 🇹🇭
its really hard to comprehend just exactly how painful those kicks are. I have done MT for about 18yrs now. And many many years ago, when I was closer to prime condition and very well muscled (and pain tolerant), I trained with a fighter who was in town doing seminars. He had fought at Lumpinee but I do not recall his name. He wasn't famous, just a pro fighter with a pretty good record. In training one day we did thigh conditioning with back and forth kicks at 20%. We used pads as we went up in power. But I told him I wanted to feel what about 30-40% of his kick would be bare shin in a sparring scenario where you are moving and shifting weight (but NOT checking). So he agreed and we circled a bit moving around until he dropped the kick on me. I took it at first no problem thinking, damn that wasn't that bad. And then the pain hit. And it radiated through my thigh. It felt as though I had been hit with an iron pipe! And 2 days later my quads, which were already very conditioned, showed deep extensive bruising. For reference, I am a former powerlifter so my quads are nearly 30 inches around and muscle. These guys hit with a real difference. My guy wasn't even a top fighter! I can't imagine what it feels like to get popped by Superlek!

Not sure where( but I remember to watch a post match picture of takeru leg. Damm, changed to deep purple… was painful just to see it from screen
Takeru is a nice guy. His fighting style is exchanging punches. We received too many kicks from the champions in the first half. I would like to applaud the champion who won beautifully overall.

SPL VS Takeru Classic Fight 🔥🔥🔥
@MrMisterBatman5 ай бұрын
To be fair, it was a big challenge for Takeru to face one of ONE's best strikers in his debut fight. I think the pressure got to him. He looked tentative in the first two rounds, and afraid to let his hands go. He only seemed to loosen up from the 4th round onwards, but by then he had taken too much damage. If he had a few tune-up fights first before facing Superlek, I believe the result would have been different.
@8limbedwarriornakmuay5045 ай бұрын
@@MrMisterBatman Superlek is a Muay Thai fighter not a Kickboxer. Superlek only has 4 Kickboxing fights in his entire life so why does Takeru need some tune up fight when Takeru has around 40 fights under Kickboxing rules ? If anything it is Superlek who need more tune up fights under Kickboxing rules as Takeru has 10 times more fight under Kickboxing rules compared to Superlek. Takeru trained for 5 months for his ONE FC debut while Superlek only trained for 2 months for this fight. Takeru looked tentative because he isn’t good compared to Superlek, as always the best Thai fighters with even very limited Kickboxing experience are able to beat the best Japanese ( and foreign ) Kickboxers in the World. Buakaw only has 2 Kickboxing fights/wins when he was able to easily beat John Wayne Parr, Takayuki and Masato all 3 of them were considered in the top 7 best Kickboxer in the World at 70 KG at that time.
@MrMisterBatman5 ай бұрын
@@8limbedwarriornakmuay504 Superlek fought 5 times in 2023 alone. Meanwhile Takeru only fought once in 2023, and that was after a long lay-off after the Tenshin fight. Also, Superlek was coming off a 10 fight win streak in ONE, while Takeru was a newcomer to ONE. Takeru trained for five months, but he only knew that Superlek was his opponent three weeks before the fight. Before that, he thought he was fighting Rodtang, who has a totally different style than Superlek.
@8limbedwarriornakmuay5045 ай бұрын
@@MrMisterBatman He didn’t fight 5 times under Kickboxing rules at all in 2023. His fights against Nabil, Tagir and Rodtang all took place under Muay Thai rules so that is irrelevant as the fight against Takeru is under Kickboxing rules. Superlek oniy fought twice under Kickboxing rules in 2023 and one of them was against a very easy opponent in Daniel Williams ( who was on very short notice, trained for MMA and was a Strawweight at that time ). Also Superlek missed weight against Tagir and Rodtang. Takeru fighting once in 2023 is irrelevant, he trained for 5 months for his ONE FC debut while Superlek only trained for 2 months for the Takeru fight. Again Superlek being in a 10 fight streak in ONE FC is irrelevant when 6 of those fights are under Muay Thai rules and also Superlek lost to Panpayak in their second fight in ONE FC. Winning in ONE FC is irrelevant, Kickboxing rules is still Kickboxing rules and Takeru has 10 times more Kickboxing fights than Superlek with most people considering Takeru to be the third best P4P Kickboxer on the planet. Superlek also trained for Elias Mahmoudi so he also only has weeks to prepare for Takeru. Elias fight in a totally different style compared to Takeru. Both Elias and Rodtang were injured that’s why they made Superlek vs Takeru.
@8limbedwarriornakmuay5045 ай бұрын
@@MrMisterBatman It’s very strange that you need excuse for the third P4P fighter in all of Kickboxing ( who trained for 5 months ) losing 4 out of 5 rounds against someone ( who trained for 2 months ) who only has 4 Kickboxing fights in his entire life and who wasn’t even considered anywhere close to the top 20 in the World in that division ? Takeru being new to ONE FC is irrelevant as Kickboxing rules in ONE FC is very similar to Kickboxing rules in any other promotions. And Superlek only has 4 Kickboxing fights in ONE FC ( 2 were against easy opponents ) so it’s not like Superlek is very experienced in Kickboxing rules in ONE FC. Nobody ever said that Takeru inactivity was gonna be a problem against the Kickboxer with 4 fights, it’s only because Takeru lost that suddenly the inactivity was a problem. The fact is that Takeru lost to Superlek because Japanese Kickboxers ( or non-Thai Kickboxers really ) lose nearly all the time when they fight the top tier Thai fighters with some elite Kickboxing experience in fact many top tier with no elite Kickboxing experience still manage to beat the best Japanese Kickboxers in the World.

Takeru is one tough opponent, if he would have engaged earlier this fight might have gone a different route. Takeru took too much damage to the front leg which ultimately caused his defeat. Superlek is a fantastic fighter, these fights have different rules which does not allow Superlek to use his full fighting potential such as cliching which allows him to use his knees to attack, elbows are not allowed and kicking above th ankle is not allowed. Even when these weapons are taken away he still managed to win the fight. Congrats to both the warriors, this was an anazing fight from start tot finish.
