I live in Laporte and Bell is very well known. Parents tell the stories of her as soon as they knew they could scare the hell of their kids. And then in school you would take a field trip to the Laporte County Museum to learn more about her. The statue they have of her is more nightmare fuel than the story ever will be. I'm Italian and discovered this case just a few years ago, it's not that famous here but it is known among true crime podcasts and channels (I learned about it in a popular comedy-horror Italian podcast). It's weirdly fascinating. It combines sad real life struggles of poor people in Italy at that time, superstitions, naive ignorance, and pure human horror. Also, it is weird that I wonder what those tea cakes (more like sugar cookies and such, I think) tasted like? People who went to her house said they were really good. It just goes to show you can never really know what you may have eaten in your life...

I personally dealt with my own missing file at Nix Hosp (right b4 they closed down) as they were afraid all their screw ups in my surgery (resulted in 2 emergency surgeries and tons of incompetencies from my dr to nurses to CNAs...literally had PTSD after that 17 day stint from hell, including two stays in ICU). so not surprised Bexar County misplaced those files. Jones got caught in kerrville (my original response i acciddently stated killeen, came to correct, saw my post missing lol). she ruined a newly established drs new business by killing the child due to her God Complex and angel of death issues. she was supposed to be paroled 2018 but thankfully they found more murders and although she originally denied she killed others, she took the plea of life in prison and admitted she was a serial killer. so far she has not admitted to the total # and i doubt she will. so may she rot.

I live in Laporte Indiana. Andrew and Jenny are both buried in Patton cemetery. I put flowers on both of their graves when I visit my grandparents. There's a portion of our museum here about her. Interestingly though, all the evidence against Lucy Letby is circumstantial, and a lot of statisticians have come out as saying there's no statistical significance there (as in there's not enough evidence to conclude being reasonable doubt that it's not just a case of bad luck). If you at some point does another "female serial killers", look into Dagmar Overby from Denmark. Her nickname was "the angel maker", because she killed infants. She was also the first recorded serial killer in Denmark and to this day the most prolific danish serial killer. Quite a horrible story.

You should cover Lizzie Borden. Basically it is believed she may have killed her stepmom and father for money using an axe. She was tried but found not guilty because the jury didn’t believe a woman could do such a thing because Lizzie acted very emotionally distressed during the trial. ( I do believe it was her because she was caught washing “red paint” off a dress) There’s a whole rhyme that describes the ax murder too.
