If you get even two kills with an auto, you'll be better off economically speaking than if you had bought an awp and done the same, because both autos have a standard kill award of $300, while the awp only gives $100. Factoring in pricing, the costs become $5000 - $600 = $4400 for both autos vs $4750 - $200 = $4550 spent on the awp. Simple Math.

I want to explain to you why you are just plain wrong. If you eventually manage to build up enough skill to get into at least master guardian, you'll know what I mean. The only reasonable scenario where an auto kills a halfway decent awper is if they wind up being lucky enough to hit a headshot. Lets say someone using an auto is holding an angle on dust 2 long. A good awper will peek with his crosshair already lined up where the person holding the angle will be, and will immediately shoot upon seeing an enemy. Even if the person using the auto has slightly faster reaction time, the awper still wins, because he does not need to react, only to fire where a person will almost always be, and if he does choose not to pre-fire, its still faster to shoot once rather than twice.

Buff them. Dmg up to 150, armor penetration to 100%, no dmg faloff. Running and walking inaccuracy down to 3.15 each, speed up to 275 (so that I can escape knife attempts ofc). Btw they might also need increase of magazine size, let's say to 50, though I'm not sure about this one. 40 might be enough. But they surely need to have increased material penetration, sth like 1000-2500%, so that they could wallbang the filthy terrorists AWPers always killing me on Mirage from the A palace. The autosniper has a long history of being hated. Back in the days of cs 1.6, nearly every server banned the autosniper and the tactical shield because they took away from more skilled gameplay. They are OP because of how simple they are to use and the scope makes long range engagements against anything but an awp basically an instant win. They even hold their own in close quarters combat. The stigma never went away and I still consider auto noobs to be cancerous, though I do use it from time to time to troll when I have lodes e mone as it is pretty funny to watch the other team rage as you gun them down without even trying. But I do believe the hate against them is warranted and you should avoid using them if you want to be better at the game as the high price is wasteful spending and your teammates will hate you if you lose an auto to the enemy team or start an autowar which is basically a full on cancer-fest.

It's fairly easy why the auto is hated. People, especially in the lower ranks, don't really know how to counter it effectively or they do know but still can't manage to get the kill. It is frustrating to always die to the same person but instead of blaming themselves they blame the weapon. MG1 and above the autosniper is nearly useless if you have an enemy team who knows what they're doing. It do needs some kind of minor buff to make it more viable in higher ranked MM but then again it would fuel the hate even more in lower ranks.

Probably silver games. Silvers can have 3-4 awps in a team and wont see an issue. It'll often work too. But as soon as you move up in the rank where people know how to shoulder peak, use utilities and have decent aim, awps arent that powerful any more

Except you can't shoulder peek an AWPer 1v1 that easily cause of that bs shoulder one-hit kill. Nades help that a lot though for sure, if you deny them the ability to pick you off by pointing and clicking. The main reason why they're not effective as a full-team loadout is that you have to advance slowly to make use out of it (essentially, play like a cowardly camper), and most likely the AWP supports are better off with assault rifles, SMGs or shotguns to go on the offensive as a team.

It may be the most hated weapon but i love it ! The thing i don't like with AWP is how it reduce the movement speed, with auto sniper i can play more aggressively. I also like how it destabilize some people. You kill them just one or two time and they will start to insult you in chat a take useless risks to try killing you.

I always used these things to tilt my opponents. I always played with friends so I had almost no chance of being kicked. It was always funny hearing the people yell and curse me out. I got to gold nova just pistol rushing and waiting til I could reliably afford the auto snipers/lmgs. Though I’d still get my shit wrecked like 60% of the time and get teased by my friends. Who were all using AK’s and Tec-9’s. It was fun for like a while and really funny. Counter Strike has the kindest and most respecting communities in the world of video games.

You're very right, it's thus pretty balanced. Yes, headshots are a must if at mid-range to deny the opponent the time to react, but I find that even body shots whilst doing peek duels do the job most of the time at long range. Nevertheless. It is indeed the sniper rifle that requires the most skill out of all of them, and a quite rewarding one at that because it retains excellent movespeed, accuracy when not completely stationary and a quick zoom-in accuracy recovery, which allows it to go toe-to-toe versus AWPers and Auto users, all for $1700.

I think it neither needs a buff nor nerf. I am MG1 (what a noob, i know) and i think somewhere between GN4 and MG1 is where the auto gets worse than the AWP, and since it is more expensive, it gets bought less (meaning basicly only hostage maps like cs_assault (the window war). I would change the reload speed of both weapons to meet in the middle (to punish if you cant kill 5 enemies with 20 shots).

Auto-snipers are not "OP" at all. They are EASILY counter with a half decent AWPer. 99% of the time, someone with an auto-sniper is going for two body shots rather than the one headshot, wheras the AWP only requires one shot to the body of the person using the auto-sniper. Even one well placed shot to the head with an AK will take him down. The only reason people perceive the auto-sniper to be "OP" and un-killable is because they automatically _assume_ that. The second Ts see the CTs using an auto-sniper, they start throwing and don't even try to take him out. Sure, they're usually guaranteed to get one of you, but if you do a kill trade, the person auto-sniping is practically guaranteed to die, as it's going to take them a while to shoot four rounds into two people.

I'd say that the autosnipers are more like heavier battle rifles (or marksman rifles), somewhere in between the pure sniper rifles (bolt-action) and the standard assault rifles. They have a normal recoil pattern compared to the random nature of the normal snipers, and they are deadly accurate if just tap-firing, although they are both beaten by the SG-553 and the AUG in scoped accuracy

In high tear games nobody uses it because for that money you can buy an awp that gives a real advantage by killing a guy with a single bullet, avoiding to give any chance to the enemy to kill you. More than that, if you loose an auto sniper and the enemy saves it, you will have a bad time, especially if the enemy is on ct side.
