Out here where i am, contests rarely are beefy, people can get tech or go big, and we got some local legends and pros like any local scene that had kids who didn't leave like myself. Long ollie contenst, high ollie contest, some flat land stuff, not to uncommon. gotta taper the challenge to the audience if you wanna be successful in skateboarding. provide realistic challenges and keep people skating ya know.

I love little, local skateparks. There are a handful of fun little parks around the KC area here and I greatly prefer them to the bigger, always crowded ones. Especially if you have just tons of people watching. Like, dude. I'm just trying to chill and have a good time and do some tricks. Stop yelling at me to go higher or do certain tricks. Give me a much smaller, simpler park with far fewer people any day of the week. That's why, since I'm an early morning person, I generally hit the skatepark at sunrise when they open and ride a couple of hours until other people start filing in. Love having a whole park to myself and my buddies. Even if it is a small park.

This is the only American skate park I’ve visited. Had an 11 hour stop over on my way to Havana. Smoked a joint with a Brazilian girl I met at a bar up the way and watched some interesting skatin go down. Almost missed my flight because I fell asleep in the terminal after. Good times.
