Spongebob gives Patrick the most beautiful scolding I've ever heard, perfectly putting him in his place, and then for some godforsaken reason, SPONGEBOB gets all the shit for it, as if Patrick didn't cause Spongebob a whole day of pain. I hate this episode down to my very core.

In my opinion House Fancy isn’t a bad episode. Yes the Toenail scene is horrible but the rest of the episode is ok. If the episode was called “The Toenail” and it’s just Squidward getting tortured it would be the worst.

I’ll still absolutely stand by the fact that the seasons when Hillenburg turned after the second movie (halfway through season 9 - around season 12) was great, borderline classic-era. Nobody ever brings that up anymore, it sucks.

truth or square: it is the 10 year anniversary, THE 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY, so you think they would have a GODDAMN good thing, but no! it is a 59-minute-long episode (yes, really) where 30 minutes it's patchy talking on the phone to random-ass celebrities, and 22 minutes it's the real spongebob episode, but it BARELY has a plot AT ALL. to add salt to the injury, this had a comercial where it said that it would reveal some secrets like why there is a pineapple on the sea and some other stuff, but that's done in a godawfully boring way, and some things aren't even revealed AT ALL

Same here, I still used a VHS player until I was 10 and only stopped because it kept breaking until we didn't know how to fix it anymore and buying a DVD player was cheaper than calling a professional to repair it or even buy a new VHS player (still have it though, just stored in the basement with all the old tapes) My mum even had a wringer when we still lived in a rented flat Cant believe someone of my own generation called me an old sack before I'm even a quarter through my life XD

If I’m being honest, I hated the wringer episode more then House Fancy. Everything about the wringer was just wrong - the plot, the dialogue, the fishes, the “moral”, and Patrick. Dear god they just massacred my boy. Patrick in the first few seasons isn’t the brightest bulb in the box but still a chilled, laid back, and supportive friend of SpongeBob. But this episode, oof. Both him and the fishes were the worst. From Patrick being oblivious to how SpongeBob being stuck is affecting him to the fish people basically saying SpongeBob deserved being crippled for how he treated Patrick. When I first saw this as a kid, I was confused but now as an adult, I just wanted to pull out the frying pan and seasoning. These fish would’ve yelled at Patrick too if they were in SpongeBob’s position. I would definitely consider this to be one of the worst episodes of the series. SpongeBob is definitely a show that was taken advantage of with its popularity and was dragged on for too long - going against Stephen Hillenburg’s (RIP) wishes on ending the series with the 2004 movie. Massive disrespect. And this wasn’t the only show to suffer from it. Fairly OddParents, Thomas the Tank Engine, shows like these, while directed toward a younger age demographic, it was something for both kids and adults to appreciate. But now they basically ruined them by either dragging it on for too long (FOP) or used it as a purpose to market toys (TTTE) While there are a few hidden gems in the modern era of SpongeBob, one of which is Sponge Out of Water (in my opinion) it’s charm, humor, dialogue, characters, and everything else isn’t on par with the classic SpongeBob. Just wanted to give my two cents on this.

As a kid I didn’t like stuck in the wringer cuz I felt her for Patrick when SpongeBob yelled at him (although now I understand why he yelled at him lmao) plus to this day even as a kid it made me uneasy cuz of having claustrophobia

I think you should check out “Breath of a Fresh Squidward” and “New Leaf”. To me, both these episodes had some pretty awful moments between characters that ruined some potential of a good episode. That might just be me though.

ok I understand that people don't like seeing characters getting torture for no reason but seriously so many people act like squidward is there long lost brother seriously an episode from season 5 call good old whats his name is consider by some people a squidward torture episode but the episode has nothing of torture in it sure squidward gets to prison but the dude stole a wallet just for a competion really he just dug his own grave and also don't ressin to anyone that tells you that newer seasons are bad really some of them are pretty good for the most part and also just saying that gross out like this in spongebob never really get me and I think are too sensitive like a comment says that squidward's eyes falling into the krabby patty actually scared them and maybe there talking as a kid scared them but for me as a kid that never scared me but seriously im tired of people saying that spongebob after the first movie is bad like another comment says modern spongebob try not to ruin the entire show with each episode (impossible) but this is not modern spongebob this mid season spongebob and some of the newer episodes are pretty good and those people are maybe watching season 1-3 and the first movie over and over and never checking some of the newer stuff to see if there good and saying there bad but I can name like over 100 good episodes of spongebob from all those seasons and people are just that there bad just because there some bad and ignore the really good ones and lets not say that the first 3 seasons only have good episodes because it hade some bad ones and now lets just say that every season has some sort good in it even some of the bad ones have really good episodes accept that ( and also sorry if I said a milioane times that people hate modern spongebob I got too over bourd with it )

Gonna be honest, I loved House Fancy as a kid. Even with the gross scene. Squilliam’s house is the main reason, I thought it looked cool. To this day I still don’t hate House Fancy. However I’ve despised Stuck In The Wringer since I was a kid.

I'm honestly sick and tired of people hating on Paul Tibbitt. There were also a lot of really good episodes made during his tenure. And it's been explained numerous times over the years that Stephen Hillenburg never actually left the show, he just wasn't directly involved with it.
