as a peruvian woman i completely admire kendrick not only because of its music but also for his point of view of prostitution and the way he see women in poverty and violence scenarios. i really respect his empathy for these victims often called "sex workers"

What about the girls that don't get paid. Are they victims. I knew girls that have as much sex as sex workers.

I feel like Kendrick connects some dots in his albums like with this song. He told this message to his sister and told her to not let this happen to her. Then in SAMIDOT I think Kendrick was talking in the perspective of another character in SAMIDOT and I think the person was talking about his sister. Then in u, Kendrick talks about how his sister was pregnant. I think she was 13 or 15. But ya, I just wanted to expand on the ending.
@drxzi14 ай бұрын
I actually talked about that in the original version of the script, just with this specific video I tried to create a specific tone and message and it didn’t fit so well. But yes all of what you’re saying is true and there’s 150m people who’ve heard SAMIDOT and only 30m who’ve heard this I think a lot of people miss it

I agree it’s one of his lowest streamed songs on spotify it only had around 30 million; originally I had a different intro mentioning that and talked about its connection to SAMIDOT, but it didn’t fit into the tone I wanted

7:31 he was an undercover cop, presumabely wearing a wire to record their conversation. "thought he was wired up (on duty and technically recording with intent to jail keisha for prostitution) like a pair of jumping cables, his eyes was closed shut prior charges he had waived em" (he chose to close his eyes to the fact that keisha was doing illegal activities because keisha let him tap, waiving all her priors presumabely for the same thing)

It doesn’t matter how often that happens, if you watch the video you’ll see how Kendrick sets up the twist at the end of the song that makes it so much more dark. People get killed all the time, but when it happens in a movie it’s a horror movie
