as someone who's definitely grown out of the original mortal instruments books, i would say that the Dark Artifices are definitely worth picking up. They're by far cassie's most sophisticated book and it's definitely become my favorite series by her :)

My heart is big enough for both the movie and book of To All the Boys. I love them both 💙 The other complements each other; what seems to be problematic on one is solved on the other and vice versa.

My issue with Zenith is that it feels like a collage of highly marketable YA tropes rather than a story the writers wanted to tell. I can’t help wondering whether an unknown author would have gotten a book deal for the same story. I’m still hella impressed she managed to write a whole novel at such a young age. I hope she won’t be turned off by the negative reviews and will keep working on her skills. With perseverance, she can become a great author.

Vicious was written as a standalone but was always meant to be a trilogy. VE wasn't sure if she would have success with it because it was her first adult book so she wrote it as if there wouldn't the rest, but the series has been met really well so we're basically guaranteed the third book
@sydneysbooks6 жыл бұрын
She talked about this at her tour stops, so this information came from her directly :)

@@mayfia Yes, but Vicious was released in 2013 while ADSOM was first published in 2015. It was her first adult novel so she wrote it as if there would never be the next two books.

I know what you mean about Cassandra Clare's books. I decided to stop reading her books years ago (and it's a shame really because I only have one more book left in the TMI series) because her series has just gotten way too long and I don't think I have enough interest to keep going. But then everyone on BookTube just won't shut up about her books, and I did remember enjoying reading the ones I've read before, so I told myself that maybe I should continue on. I don't know. I'm still undecided, but I have a feeling I might actually reread TMI and then go read her other books because I just want to join the bandwagon, okay. 😂

If you liked the audio book for Sadie, listen to The Dead House. That book was so amazingly well done in audio book format. Honestly, I listened to The Dead House first, and after all the hype for Sadie, I tried it out, and it just didn't live up to the hype. Compared to The Dead House, The Dead House did the different formats a lot better in my opinion. I still have yet to read Sadie, as the audio book wasn't that well done as far as different formats go. The different noises were just a distraction to me. I get where the hype comes from, but I shouldn't have listened to it after hearing The Dead House.
