The Most ICONIC Catfish | Antwane & Tony

Catfish has had a lot of epic moments, confrontations and reveals, but NOTHING beats the Anwtane and Tony episode. It is arguably the episode that gave the show it's notoriety and allowed it to be a huge success for years to come. This episode was not really requested, but I wanted to cover it, so here we are. It is one of my favourite episodes from start to finish, because it is so messy, but moreso because Nev and Max both lose it on this catfish. It's so satisfying to see. I think Nev has a low key super power where he’s just the right amount of professional-looking and harmless-smiling-skinny-guy energy, that’s how he gets away with just opening people’s doors and looking around on their property and shit lol. He’s one of those rare people who look really innocent and benevolent and actually _are_ innocent and benevolent lol. I’m still surprised nobody’s ever pulled the old family shotgun on him though 😂

George Zimmerman (Florida) left his house with a gun, walked several hundred feet down a public sidewalk, chased down an unarmed teenager who was walking home, tried to grab him and restrain him, and then when the teenager tried to get him off of him George Zimmerman fatally shot him in the chest. Zimmerman was found Not Guilty of capital murder via Stand Your Ground laws. The unarmed teenager was named Trayvon Martin. Zimmerman later sold the gun he used to kill him on eBay for a huge profit. He’s a free man to this day.

Catfishing has literally been a thing for centuries. There was even a king or prince or some royal pain in the ass who was writing a possible wife. The people who sent her portrait purposely painted her to look way better than what she did in reality. When they met, the guy was so appalled he called off the wedding. The term catfish is relatively new the practice is not. I even remember watching an Alfred Hitchcock episode about an old lady who wrote love letters to an inmate. She told him when he gets out, they'd live together forever. All the bs while telling him she was a young lass who couldn't wait to be in his arms. Unbeknownst to her, he got out early and knocked on her door. She didn't want to tell him the truth, made up a reason to get him back in prison. The end showed her going back into lala land and catfishing again.

She also has a criminal case against her for using children's photos without permission and saying that they died , Kristen was also stealing and using co workers pictures, people in her town were livid. she has a lot of stories and scandals attached to her name. Another episode that would be good is season 8 gabby and kiara storyline. Before the show was aired gabby had a Reddit page that was dedicated to exposing gabby for catfish half of NY and NJ. People were putting her on the Reddit page and another website exposing her

I 100 percent agree with you on this. I understood her so much, hated that I could not be angrier at her more because she made a lot of sense/made a lot of good points. He should never have called her fat, because he absolutely was projecting but also was fat shamming her at the same time. She shpuld have never done the catfishing at that extreme of a level (never should have catfished either). And the iconic line is hilarious becausenof how it put the show on the map, not funny against her/anyone in general. That is my take. Both of them were in the wrong, but she was the "villain" that she wanted to portray.

I HATE bullying, and I understand her hurt (I’m 53 and I still want to throw hands at anyone who ever called me “high yellow“ in school), but as an adult if you intend to foster and maintain a healthy relationship with a loved one you have a conversation. She should have been able to they’ll her cousin, and best friend, “I feel hurt when you say I’m a fat Kelly Price.” Often, within families especially, we feel like we have to put up with it because “FAMILY”. Plus, it’s likely been perpetrated by the older generations so we grow up seeing and hearing it and think that’s normal. That said, I can understand why she might not have felt a talking to him would make a difference. But to leap straight to Public Humiliation on a Global Scale is beyond over the top. And I have to wonder if her relationship with Antoine was the only relationship affected by her actions. Nah, this is something you fantasize about, then choose to be a grown up. But if everyone did that, we wouldn’t have episodes like this.
