This rink was originally Compuware Arena and the Plymouth whalers played there I used to go to games all the time growing up it was the best experience I was in the kids club so I got to do all sorts of cool stuff with the team they did pizza parties and we got to skate with them I’ve skated both those rinks a bunch and I played hockey at the Ann Arbor ice cube and that’s where USA was before they moved the whalers actually had a lot of successful players that made it to the NHL like James Neal and Tyler Seguin i have a lot of autographs and memorabilia I even got to meet Nicholas Lindstrom and Thomas Holmstrom And get their autographs at that arena so many good memories

Rink is really nice but University of North Dakota rink is not only the nicest facility in college it is the nicest rink in the world hands down. Marble floors , bars at both ends, one is home to the old Organ from Chicago stadium. Lockeroom has slide glass doors, and the weight room is bigger than this. Not to mention they have their own chef. Program has the most former players that have played in the NHL as well. Belfour, Toews, Oshie, Parise, just to name a few. A former player Ralph Englestad donated $100 million dollars and the rink opened I believe 2002 and they have since put $25 million worth of upgrades into. Believe part of that was a walking treadmill in a pool.

that olympic sheet is where Detroit catholic central hs plays, compuware youth program plays out of there as well, and you can just rent the ice and have a drop in on the nil size sheet, couple years ago I used to play every Wednesday night in this rink and it was just a bunch of us old dudes playing
