One of the greatest plays of all time, but the game wasn't over yet. Dallas got the ball on the kickoff, and Danny White hit Pearson on a crossing pattern. He was one step away from breaking it for a TD, which would have overwritten history. Eric Wright made a one arm horse collar tackle (which would likely be a 15-yard penalty today), to save the day. On the next play the 49ers' line got to White and made him fumble, recovered by the defense to seal the win.

I was at a buddy's house, with another half dozen friends from college, and we were all crouched in front of the couch and chairs we had been sitting on before this play. Everyone came off the ground at the same time because it looked like a busted play. Montana had Cowboys all over him, and it looked like he was just going to throw it away out of the back of the end zone. Plus, the camera angle made it look like Clark came out of nowhere. It was a magic moment that stands still in time and it was why the NFL was so fun to watch back during that time.

Both QBs had their struggles in this game, Montana had 3 picks and a lost fumble but when he needed to be great, he delivered! And Clark ended up with 8 catches for 120 yards and two touchdowns.

I thought that was just a well-thrown pass - Montana throws it perfectly so either Dwight catches it or it safely goes out of bounds. But what about the 'Immaculate Reception'? 1972 Steelers vs Raiders, 30 seconds left, Bradshaw throws on -the-run to Tatum, bounces off Tatum and a Raider Defensive back, looks like its going to be an incomplete pass until Franco Harris grabs it on-the-run just before it hits the ground and runs it past three Raider defenders for a TD that wins it for the Steelers.
