Genesis 7 Marss vs Leo is a classic fs but I think my favorite set to watch for all of ultimate was Riddles vs Skyjay Collision 2023 Finals. I love Riddles as a player and if I recall correctly that was his first ever tournament title. The set was electric every game and to see how much the win meant to Riddles was exactly what competing is all about in my opinion; good games, good sportsmanship, and meaningful moments.

For ult I feel like Tweek vs Gluto at Terra is slept on too much, a 10 game sets seeing the opposition of 2 of the best ever non broken character player, at a time when Accola was already dominating and we were starting to feel the staleness of the meta, and we got to see so good movements, spacing, and just smash ultimate at its core. Like this sets truly embodies what you think of when you think of top level play in smash (+it ends on banana waft)

I think the best sets are just the ones that culminate a storyline. Melee has a lot but Summit 11 is obviously known as _that_ one. Funny enough in retrospect many agree they weren't even playing that well but the stories made the moment. For Brawl I gotta go with Otori finally coming over and dominating Apex 2012. WF vs Nairo def one of my fav Brawl sets Smash 4... c'mon, ZeRo's streak ending ofc. Ult ngl doesn't have any stories that hit like that to me but I would probably give Zackray's Big House win as my favorite. im not gonna act like I've ever watched a single 64 set💀

summit had crowds. especially their later ones. they sold limited seating for the last day so it WAS more than those just invited. That said, I don't feel that was melee's most iconic set, because i don't feel it truly had any impact on the scene.

It had the largest prize pool of any smash tournament and I think this set also peaked in live viewership. It was the first major after quarantine so there was a ton of hype going into it. Zain and mang0 were the most dominant players during the online era so this was a set to determine who in fact was the best, kicking off a new era. mang0 had to win two back to back games on FD in set 1, which like marss said, was deemed impossible especially against Zain. This was mang0’s first Summit win. Winning this set in the way that he did cemented mang0 as the greatest of all time.
