fully agreed my fellow gentleman, like any artwork, there are flaws, and like in any artwork, some if not sometimes most of those flaws are turned into pseudo-qualities. The creativity, artistic direction coherence and depth, and adventurous and passionate developers are just not there in Treyarch anymore, and no Acti isnt the boogeyman, but the full on reason and culprit.

I miss the days when most maps had their own unique “boss zombies”. Pentagon thief on five, George on call of the dead, shriekers and Napalm for Shang, margwa on shadows, etc. In BO6, every map pulls from the same group of 5 boss zombies and nothing feels original anymore in that aspect.

When we finally did it, it was only one of the two EE i ever beat apart from mob of the dead a few weeks before. In 2023, on BO3, i managed to beat it by myself. A true test of patience and resolve. Step 6 is HARD solo, made trivial with the right gobblegum. The pure adrenaline trip and the satisfaction of succeeding is so worth it. My personal favorite map of all time.
@Telixion9 күн бұрын
While yes it was brute forcing. I would say a large portion of the hunting community were doing a good job understanding the puzzles. We were solving it with the information we knew, and grasping a better understanding as we continued to play. Perhaps the FIRST person to figure it out stumbled upon it in brute force style. But to say that is how things were solved might not be giving enough credit for the time spent on things. Great video by the way. Origins was something really great. I remember hearing one of my teammates saying the ending cutscene got posted. I didn't want anyone watching it. We were going to experience it for ourselves. The idea of people ruining this experience for views really rubbed me the wrong the way. And the best way to combat it was to not entertain it.... But viewers gonna view. And now its a very unfortunate standard for zombies today.

For the Ice staff I never actually memorised any of the solutions. I like to do the math in my head while training the zombies. The way I do it is slightly differently though. So instead of turning the pads into base 4 I divide the base 3 wall with 4, get the integer and the remainder, and use that to decode the pads. Example: Step 1: Turn into base 3. 1 0 0 → 1x9 + 0x3 + 0x1 = 9 (base 3) Step 2: Divide by 4 9/4 = 2 and 1 remains Step 3: Match the result with the symbols. 0 = triangle 1 = I 2 = L 3 = F (upside down) For this example, we got 2|1, so the solution is LI (2=L, 1=l). I don't know which method is easier but this is the one I got used to.

Something I’ve consistently noticed with these older Easter eggs is that they are damn near impossible as a solo player. I don’t have anyone to play with and as much as I would love to do the origins egg I can’t becuase I have no one to play with. Directed mode in black ops 6 is such a great idea in that regard even though I do complete the Easter eggs without using it and before it comes out for the maps it’s great to have for people who may not have friends to do the egg with

Origins was the downfall of zombies. Really it was MOTD first, but that was like its own thing at the time. Origins completely changed the formula and was a soft reboot that made the mode more about the easter eggs and less about the actual gameplay.
@evanf19978 күн бұрын
What makes you feel that way? Imo innovation is what would continue to happen for both the Easter eggs and the maps for years beyond origins
@brotherbrod8 күн бұрын
@ im of the opinion that zombies peaked in BO1. My top 5 maps are: Der Riese, Ascension, Shang, Moon, and Kino. Good simple map design. Skill focused. No gobble gums or double PaP to help bad players achieve high rounds. Innovation is good, but only when it's done correctly. Give us new perks, cool new traps, sick new wonder weapons that aren't just some version of elemental god relics like staffs or bows. Hell I'll even give credit to Shadows and MOtD even though the most useful wonder weapons are a tomahawk and a sword that you have to do side quests in order to upgrade and then never have to worry about trading them out because they're infinite. The "innovation" we got in zombies was making it easier so that more people could complete the easter eggs and become invested in that watered down multiverse story.

BO2 zombies will always be the peak, guns we’re great, maps provided endless fun and were great to just go for high rounds, and no gums/choosing starting weapon. I compare every zombies to it and bo3 was good but many of the maps weren’t as replayable. Bo6 is just a mess because it’s made it easier but way more grinding just gets mediocre. I just don’t understand some of the decisions to change the points mechanics, even worse why over the years change to make perks more expensive almost as bad as inflation.
