I have the opposite Marisa impression. I'd say she's a bottom that plays being an ace. If she were an ace, Tethys wouldn't get a rise out of her so easily. If she were a top, they'd go to butting heads rather than Marisa running away. Similarly, in her Gerik support, she actually is trying to get his attention in a way, just from the perspective of someone extremely shy and bad with people. If anything, she seems most comfortable when being told what to do. But she isn't good at communicating what she wants. So she wants Gerik to make a move but it just isn't happening because he's a bit easygoing and dense and she's too shy to be upfront about it. Even when she tries to say something, she trails off and we never see the actual words. Also, very Gerik fixated. The ending implies that as he never made a move, she finally did... and just was just extremely clumsy about it. So two bottoms but eventually she got fed up with standoff and became a switch out of necessity to get something to happen. To me, honestly surprisingly complex for the very tiny amount of text involved.

Your read on the twins really expanded my brain on the relationship between each other and with Lyon. Ephraim and Eirika grew up being treated as equals and of course treated each other the same, and wanted to have that same kind of relationship with Lyon as friends. While Lyon cherished them in that way, he also could not reciprocate viewing the twins that way. He wanted to love Eirika and wanted to be strong and masculine like Ephraim, and felt like those desires couldn't make him their equal as if it were something to be earned and just unconditional. It's all the more tragic after he's turned that he abuses that unconditional love and trust from the twins to take advantage of them.

Midori does mean green in Japanese, but it's also a name that's somewhat commonly used. One of my teacher's back in the day's first name was Midori if I remember correctly. Also fun fact, did you know that back in the day Japanese people referred to the color green as "blue" (Ao) and so that's carried over even in modern day, when some people call green lights at a traffic light the "Ao Shingo" or green seaweed "Ao Nori".
