Firstly appreciated your effort on this idea. An important skill for IT or any field differs and depends on their gaps in doing the job. Simply if we neglect any skill, the benefit will be lost. So, learn the required skill & move like a rocket.😊

I agree on the language topic. Another important skill is communication in general. Your language and technical skills are not helpful, if you are unintentionally unfriendly just because you never learned how to communicate properly. It is quite easy, especially in an international environment, to accidently insult other people, just because said something in a way that is considered as rude in their culture. So, the most important skill are fluent English, communication in general and some cultural knowledge (if the third is missing, be really careful, how you say something to avoid problems).

Thank you Galal. I cannot agree more. I am an accountant, with a Master's degree, and yes, it is very difficult for me as well, to 'sell myself' on interview. Because of lack of English language on academic level.

Wish you luck in improving your English, it's a skill that can be easily learnt once you decide to focus on it

Yeah, a lot of skills are needed! And having a decent English level makes learning other skills much easier. Also no matter how good you're, without English you can't show it

Totally agree. Though… learning English is comparably easy. Learning communication skills is (almost) impossible. Either you have the gift or you don’t. Regardless what language you’re using

The point highlighted is accepted but however communication skills could be a gift but at same time you can learn it.. Nothing is impossible brother except the ones Allah disavow us as human..

I used to be very bad in communication skills! 😁 I had very week social life, people told me I'm selfish and I don't share information at work, I didn't speak English well, the first time I made a presentation in my life was when I was 22 years old...!! But I listen to feedback others give me, evaluate it, and act, so I knew I had a weakness in communication. That's why I started working on it, I took English courses, improved my social life, started sharing information online and so on Communication skills can definitely be learnt!

I would like to say that learning MS Office (productivity programs) is the basic & important skill for anyone in IT field specially ERP consultancy, despite that English is still important when it comes to global/international projects ...

If you're amazing in productivity programs but you can't communicate in English, can you get a good IT job in an international company?

Aaah, there are people who dedicated all their lives to answer this question 😁 Well, you're already here and you understand this video, so i would say you already have a good level in comprehension For expressing yourself, it's all about practice, I remember I switched all my gaming activities to English, so when i used to play online games and co-ops (like call of duty and so) I would join servers that have English speakers and open the audio chat It's all about practice!

I pick up phrases from seniors or team leads who know how to answer appropriately. Secondly, I plan ahead on what I wanna say, before an interview or meeting. I jot down in point form and rehearse before an interview. Thirdly, you finish an interview and (for the companies you're keen on) may proceed to follow up with the recruiter or HR on your interview outcome. Based on the outcome and feedback, you can learn to switch/change the way you express yourself, to nail the next job. Sometimes it can be the company culture that is incompatible with who you are. Sometimes it's how you feel about yourself, that is reflected in how you communicate in the meeting or the interview. If you could tell yourself that you are worth it, did your due diligence, and have continously invested in improving yourself; that can be a powerful source of motivation to shine in front of the customers and prospective employers. Hope it helps.
