I really liked when you said doing it over and over will make things click, I am struggling with line art taking ages but I will keep at it till it clicks. Thank you so much and waiting for part 2 🙏

Good point! It protects from discouragement. Because until it clicks it sure does feel like a waste of time (even though it isn’t)

This real time drawing video made me realize that I draw too fast. I'll try taking my time with each brushstroke. Maybe that's why I get stuck sometimes, since I do not allow myself time to think of what I'm actually doing. Really helpful, thank you!

The speedpainting craze from 2010 really ruined a lot of artists expectations I think. Slow is fast.

loved this less talking and music. then you watching a lot of tutorials or drawing videos, you constantly hearing same stuff over and over. so this video format is more interesting for me :)

I finally spent a weekend to finish this practice. Thanks Grady, once again I learned more things from you. Never realize how importance the notan sketch can be. Because during my work, some colleagues might find it's kind of a waste of time painting from black and white , more of like an old school style for them. 🤣 Especially when u can creat a desigh with Blender. But this vd shows how critical the fundamental is. From what I've learned from this, I think notan sketch is focused on the abstract SHAPES and value groups between light and dark which can provide u a more clear head before you go futher into the value sketch.

Thanks for this video. I find that separating into just two values with light and dark is difficult for me in scenes with dense foliage, like forests. Going to try to remember these tips for when I try to tackle that again

Thanks so much for your videos they make me feel inspired again after a long time and its super pleasing seeing your content and i love your artwork and your videos also i really love when you show your process with references you are looking at, really inspires me even more. I noticed that some of the references shot in Iceland my home country and the landmarks i know well personally especially the reference way to the right. Mountain called einhyrningur is one of my favorite in Iceland. But it’s really nice to hear your wisdom of what you are creating and recently found myself just having your videos running in a cycle when I’m drawing. Thank you so much for all your work.😊🎉🙏

Love your videos! Also love your "constant talking"! Could you at some point talk about Brushes please? I recently watched a video from Jordan Grimmer called: How to sketch landscapes. He talked in the intro about the potential of the right brush and since then my paintings have gone to an entirely different route. I would love to hear your perspective on the matter. Thank you for doing what you're doing, it's super refreshing and helpful and I enjoy listening to a personality such as yours talking so genuinely about their craft. Take care!

It's really cool to see your environments Grady process, I saw that you use some reference images of real images, do you use some reference artists to make your paintings?, it would be cool to know about your influence map, about the artists you admire, and what that catches your attention in their work, I think it would be good content for a video, congratulations on the content, very inspiring.

2 value comp is easy whats hard is when it gets divided even more into 4 how far/close the added two to create emotion based on the atmosphere thats grounded in science and real life relationship, to create mood not just from some wishy washy feeling, to keep the compression and relationship accurate

Hi, Grady! As you said, the new part will be introducing values in the thumbnails, and I wonder if could be possible to make a video about the transition between values e coloring, I can't find a reliable content on KZbin about this (values and colors). I know there are courses, but they are kind of unaffordable at the moment... I'm a beginner, sometimes I'm struggling in how to put the right color on the right values. Thanks for the content and about the talking on the videos, I always find useful to hear a professional about the creative process and other factors in the creating process.
