I do believe that a man must be mentally healthy before all things. Physical health is nothing if you're going crazy upstairs. You must be able to stay alone for long periods and stay happy. This is a key indicator to mental happiness for a man.

You hit the nail on the head regarding being too much on purpose and not having a balance. Few years ago, 25ish, I was hella absorbed in what I decided/found as my purpose, and I got hella one sided with it. Was listening to too many videos about grind over sleep, etc etc etc. Was drinking energy drinks and coffee immediately after work and going in for another 4-6hrs. Many times up till 2-4am and being back up on a few hours to go to work. I was off balance and my body responded. Since, I've been able to find a better balance. Appreciate the importance of getting enough rest, taking days off, and engaging in things I enjoyed a bit more - hobbies. Hella important to have a balance. Or else you'll burnout, fast.

@izziman50283 жыл бұрын
@@Andretti2Tone I’m with you, homes, but my dads a different kinda complicated. I ‘struggle’ to talk to him cause he puts his problems on my back. He thinks he can manipulate me and make me his slave cause i’m young. He does that to all my siblings and my first-cousins who have confided in him. But with me, I’m his first-born child, and his ONLY Son, so he expects me to be man enough to take on his own problems but I got my own life to live. Its not that I don’t wanna hit him up tho. I love my dad. He loves me like crazy too. But the dynamic has to change if we ever wanna have a better relationship. The crazy part is that he has a gigantic heart , he’s a stand-up guy and he’s real, but his life is fked up, and its his responsibility to get himself right, which is hard cause of mental illness and a criminal record.
@HeyShades3 жыл бұрын
@@izziman5028 My pops tried doing the same thing to me in my early 20s, so to teach him the same thing what you're trying to commuicate to your father, I moved out without telling him due to being fed up. Kept my distance for a few years until he became grateful that he even has a son to care for him. After giving him an inch, he would try taking a mile, so that's when I would stay away for extra periods of time (couple of months) to let him know that I can come and leave whenever and that he shouldn't get too comfortable (as F'd up as that may sound). I'm not recommending you to do exact same thing, but I do suggest establishing boundaries in a way you deem fit, so that way the ball can be in your court as well when communicating. In my case, this was the way I thought was best.
@izziman50283 жыл бұрын
@@HeyShades I get what you saying. Its like both our pop’s better be man enough to handle their son’s doing their own thing, and not being puppets. My dad and I don’t live together, but my pop’s is the kinda guy who will run up on me if I do something he don’t like , so I’m always on eggshells about what I tell him. He wouldn’t even f**k with AMS cause my pops has different views, so I’m low-key about my dating life / and sex life. & By the amount of likes I’m getting, I can tell that a-lot of these dudes struggle to talk to their dads for whatever reasons. Very sad, but the traditional family that kids deserve is definitely not that common anymore . When my dad was a kid, He Ran away from his mom to go be with his pops. He was surrounded by hardcore Mexican Gangsters including his pops+uncles, but his dad hit him more times then he hugged him and always treated him like sh*t, so my dad got more involved in the criminal lifestyle to try to impress him and he got locked up for 4 years, but thank God he ain’t in that lifestyle anymore. I think My dad expects me to do the same thing he did when he was a kid, “ Go be with your pops and become a man. “ But its not that simple, cause he ain’t offering me something legit. His life is in shambles. He has various health / mental illness, including arthritis , Chronic Depression, Paranoid schizophrenia, and his hands and legs are weakening due to his arthritis. Plus a criminal record, and always gets fired from his jobs and kicked out of every household he stays at cause he has a hardcore controlling personality. I think my dad wakes up every day with a broken heart cause he’s all alone, but I can’t sacrifice my life for him.
