Most of that mine looked like it had been prepared for tourism! So clean and new-looking! Thanks for the explore and sharing! 👍👍

Wow, the craftsmanship, quality of the work. Almost pin point on placing of some of the beams and lumber. One of your best explorations and adventures yet. We agree, my lady and I could live there. Much awesomeness. Seriously thank for the efforts and for posting. We love spelunking and exploring mines when we can. Love is following old railway lines. For us, the entire family, is that the guys including in laws start at 6' to 6' 4 ", our ladies are in general 5' 11" my lady...Letha 6' 2". So thanks again for posting and stay safe.

Thanks for following our adventures! We absolutely loved this one. Sounds like you'll have to leave the tight crawls to the smaller explorers. Good on you guys for getting out there to see what they left behind. The old west always has more to discover.

Wow what a great mine and explore…well done - amazing just how large this mine is; the superb wooden craftsmanship and timber condition. Oh…and on a side note, tks so much for the clean language (although even better if you drop the “freaking” word); and no blasphemy that upsets and is so offensive and disrespectful to many people of faith (unlike so many other mine exploring channels). I know some will argue “people don’t have to watch it”. But this keeps the channel professional and open to all to watch - that is so important if you want the public to view your site and subscribe - and should ensure further growth. Another WELL DONE ! 🚢🇬🇧🚂

What a great mine! Given the quality of the wood and carpentry, I almost want to move in! (It is the same feeling I had when my buddies and I built a collosal tree fort!) Love your videos. I look forward to spending time each Saturday watching them.

Could you imagine ordering the wood for this mine? Some where there used to be a forest.
@RustandDustExploration2 жыл бұрын
Haha, seriously. It looks to me like American wood in this one, but some of the bigger ones we've explored in more alpine areas had to import enormous timbers all the way from Norway. I guess their lumber handles the elements far better. Can you imagine the cost and logistics of that delivery??

Well if everything is in good shape as far as chutes and all, then we know this mine was more of a modern one.
@RustandDustExploration2 жыл бұрын
You would think so! But because it's in an extremely dry part of the desert, the wood has just stayed well preserved. Most of those chutes were built in the 1920s! 🤯

Not necessarily true, i live in Las Vegas and Nevada has THOUSANDS of Mines and i've been in Mines that are 110 years old and older and they look as if they had just been built, depends on the location of the Mine and the elements like weather and if it's in a dry climate etc etc etc. It's almost spooky how some Mines although they can be 80 years old look as if they were just left, Dam i miss being able to do that stuff, thank goodness for channels like these to fill the void.

When was that mine last worked?
@RustandDustExploration2 жыл бұрын
Data on this one is spotty, but based on the last few recorded production estimates, it was likely abandoned sometime in the early 30s.

One of the estimates from the '20s states nearly a million dollars from delivered copper ore. I agree, though, the walls look pretty plain, so maybe they were just really good at getting it all.

Good catch. We totally neglected to record it, and I still regret that. It was just the headframe for the shaft and an elevated track, both in disrepair but still pretty cool.

I have been trying to watch as many of your videos from the beginning, And i have come to one conclusion and maybe a suggestion . You really have to get a mic on your partner. There are time she is speaking and you really can't hear her and understand what she is saying , BTW does she have an accent ? British ? or is that just me ?
@RustandDustExploration2 жыл бұрын
She does wear a mic in this video, but there were a couple areas where we forgot to turn it back on. Sorry about that. We started using a second mic for her this year, and most of our videos are from before that. Thanks for watching them all though! We'll take that as a compliment! And to answer your question, she grew up in the states, but I'll have to ask her what her thoughts on that are 😅

Not surprising considering that all the nails used in the construction are modern.⚒🪜
@RustandDustExploration2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the definition of modern. It was definitely from the early half of 20th century, and some things have not changed much in that time. It is known that the main shaft that curves into an incline was completed before a merger in the early 20s, so I'd say the construction is pretty decently old.
