I used to work with this half black girl who went to Morgan State University. She was like 30 and never stopped talking about her sorority. It was the only thing she ever talked about outside of work. She was so proud of that school. One day I was at a Barnes and Noble and checked the college ranking book. I never knew but black colleges have their own section in those rankings because they would never make it anywhere near the top of any of those lists. They can't compete with any even regular community colleges let alone real universities. They are basically the special Olympics of colleges. Colleges are ranked in all kinds of ways. Average SAT score, number of valedictorians and salutatorians, average GPA, graduation rate. Every black college is so bad at everything that they need their own lists in the college ranking books. And that's what she was so proud of in her 30s.

I hate watched the boogie saga. The "well my parents molested me" came out to try to shift attention from being in the middle of his inconsistencies and lies being found out. His siblings said they cant 100% say none of it happened, but they dont beleive it and only came out with it after they were dead and couldnt defend against it AND when he was in need of twisting some arms for sympathy for victim points. It only comes up when he needs you to go easy on him.

I completely relate to what Sam is saying, my Mum died in 2022 and it made me spiral into alcoholism and drug usage to be able to fall asleep. And I lost my job because of it, but I refused to make a situation out of it, so I just took it, and found another job, I refused to blame it on my parents' death. I somehow weirdly understand the workings of Boogie's shenanigans, because there's a small version of me in my head that would just do the same shit as him, but I have enough resolve to deny this demon and just get my shit together and not complain. I kind of feel bad for him.

That's rough man, sorry to hear it. Keep your chin up though, you'll see him again someday. There's much more to this reality than what can be seen and touched. Everyone gets their own afterlife inside of their heads when they are dying. I figure whatever it is you need to see and experience, that's what will happen. All through the ages, that's one thing every civilization and tribe agreed upon: that there is an underworld and an abode of the gods/angels, and I don't think that is mere superstition. The afterlife doesn't occur in a physical location (at least other than within the brain of a clinically dead person) but rather in a metaphysical location, as though it is another dimension accessible only through the brain of the clinically dead but biologically living. What would amount to a few minutes for us in the external, physical universe would be stretched out within the mind, allowing for things like a life review flashing before your eyes, detailing your whole life story, in the blink of an eye. When we die DMT is released in massive quantities, way more than when we dream, so between your heart stopping and the hypoxia killing your brain due to lack of oxygenated blood flow to the head, your brain will continue performing complex operations, as we have seen from brain scans of the clinically dead and from those that have died and been resuscitated. People report all sorts of different experiences, so it doesn't seem like a rigid one-size-fits-all type of afterlife, rather something more organic, tailored to the individual. It is a surprise. I don't know how long the experience could last, I mean without any external stimuli to inform you of the passage of time, I figure the experience within the brain of a clinically dead person may well involve time being dilated to the point of infinity, or at least a very long time. I'm only speculating about how it might work, but ultimately there is very good reason to believe we have powerful, emotional experiences after our hearts stop. Some people reported feeling tremendous peacefulness and love and warmth and light, while others have had visions of Hell and whatnot. It would be comforting to think that truly awful, psychopathic individuals face unyielding terror and pain when they meet their maker, experiencing every bit of the horror they inflicted upon their victims, while good people and the innocent like children that die experience something nice.

I absolutely milked my dad dying for like 6 months. It's not that I personally felt that strongly about it, but I knew I LIVE IN A SOCIETY where I can get away with it. Of course I'll take advantage. It's like when people pay taxes all their life but the one time the system actually favors them they're "too proud" to "receive handouts" or whatever? Like LMAO.

My brother was a founding father for a frat when he went to college. When he was moving from student housing to an off-campus house, I helped him move and found their frat handbook. Mind you, I’m volunteering to help him move. I opened it and he came storming through his apartment, snatched it out my hand, and told me he’d “made an oath to his brothers to never ruin the sanctity of their fraternity.” I called him a r word silly billy and left. The book was under a sofa by the way.

This weird roommate i had in college always talked about how damaged he was that his 2 month old brother died when my roommate was like a little over a year old. One of my friends who never even met my roommate was talking to me and made a joke about a dead brother or something, then my roommate just said “that’s not funny bro. My brother died”. My friend was like oh that sucks man i’m sorry, but my roommate had already went back to our dorm and started moping and crying
@simonbehrendt-n4wАй бұрын
It probably DID damage him. Just indirectly by turning his mother into a mess. And then in turn she made him a sissy, with the father allowing it because he only ever touches her with velvet gloves since that day.
