I’m really surprised by how many people seem to not know about Stride rules and Spear X. That was the whole gimmick of Ezel superior ride in Premium since a long time ago that you get to Stride while opponent is still on g2. It’s what made Ezel good especially when Wonder Ezel was still allowed… love the deck lots still. Always a pleasure to see.

I don't think it would have mattered in the end since it seems he had an extra 5K shield to throw down, but the final Blaster Blade attack was 43k, not 40k, Llew gives the called Blaster an extra 3k, which hits a magic number against grade 3 Vanguards so that an extra 5k is needed to guard. But he had enough to guard an extra 5k it seems, so it didn't end up mattering for this game.

I'm getting back into Vanguard now and never been more confused with premium and v premium but I want to build a gurguit deck and fenrir deck. Any paladin deck is my favorite so going try to build MB also.

I recommend making a V series deck first, and then add a 16 card g zone to the V Series deck. That is essentially what most Premium decks are

If you want to get back into Vanguard, I actually recommend starting with Standard (as in D-series, Overdress). It is the most balanced format, cheapest to buy into, and easiest to pick up.

I think there was an error on the Ezel players turn, its not just any soulblast to superior ride Ezel, you have to soulblast the starter in particular and it looked like he soulblasted the grade 3 searcher. Loved the game and the editing btw

Never played premium before (only started playing vanguard once overdress started) but after seeing that ultima turn in game 1 I’m kinda glad I didn’t. I could only imagine how fun it was when you were able to stack the over trigger with it

There's been a lot of comments about this so I'm going to refer people to this pinned comment: At 2:43 and 18:03 If you're wondering why you can stride while your opponent is at Grade 2 or if you think the cost for Spear-X wasn't paid when it was "supposed to be," Bushiroad changed the stride rules over three years ago. If you are on a grade 3 vanguard at the beginning of your turn, you may pay the normal cost of stride regardless of the grade of your opponent's vanguard. Please refer to this link: en.cf-vanguard.com/howto/v-series/ BEFORE Normal stride is only possible when both players’ vanguards are grade 3 or greater. AFTER Normal stride is only possible when both players’ vanguards are grade 3 or greater, or the turn player begins his or her turn with a grade 3 or greater vanguard. These new rules were implemented in April 2018 and have not been changed since.

They changed the rules back in 2018 when V Series came out. Now, if your Vanguard is grade 3 at the beginning of your ride phase, you can stride normally.

As long as all the cards are the same clan, you can use ANY cards you want (still following the basic rules of 16 triggers, exactly 50 cards in the deck, and up to 16 card gzone)

Rule change about 3 years ago. Surprised with everyone asking this exact question when we’ve showcased Premium Ezel so much within the last 3 years. You can stride if you started the turn on a grade 3, to prevent people from trying to lock people out of their stride turn.

I haven't like been able to get back into vanguard? Whats like the "Official" format now? Cause I lov d G before the opponent was literally able to kill you im 1 turn (seriously how does pale moon go from Okay to literally a otk deck no matter how much guard you have), I'm seeing premium but obviously combining G and standard is gonna be busted as hell and I don't wanna deal with that "If everythings op nothing is" and it comes down to who drew what very specific cards. Is standard tolerable?

The streamline or main focus Bushiroad is pushing right now is Overdress/D Series, which is currently known as "Standard" I wouldn't worry about the "If everything is OP, then nothing is" concern because Bushi recently made a huge banlist for Premium format and a lot of problematic decks were hit really hard, making more people interested in joining the format. Standard is tolerable (and really affordable), but incredibly boring in my personal opinion.

Standard is the most well-balanced format in Vanguard right now. It's got the lowest barrier to entry too and it's the cheapest. Set 3, which comes out in 2 weeks, is really going to spice up the metagame.

There is misplay there in GP (game 1), he use SpearX skill without the cost of CB2 and calling two cards in RG. I think there is a rule that if your VG is G3 and was not placed during your turning phase, you can do normal stride.

You can still normal stride if ur on g3 at the beginning of your ride phase. They changed the stride rule 3 years ago.

When the overtrigger is checked during the drive/damage check, give something 100mil power, draw a card, remove the trigger from the game When drive check, read the additional effect on the trigger and perform it When damage check, ignore the additional effect.

No misplay, Spear-X was Strode through normal Striding Requirement (discarding a Grade 3 if your VG's grade is 3 at the beginning of your ride phase). The Ezel is in the drop zone
