This was an interesting storm to see transition the way it did. It actually stole the thunder of a second low further northeast - Nicole prevented a possible Owen. The wind field didn't seem to close as much as it could have - radar had a huge eye. Florida was probably lucky Nicole didn't have more time to get going; it would have really been rough.

Would have helped had you been around for hurricane andrew. I know tech wasn't what it is now and you were probably pretty young in 92. We all huddled over our babies trying to protect them while brian norcross gave us updates over the radio. He was our hero then. You're wearing a much bigger hat and you fill it nicely. The most impressing thing was the SIZE of Nicole, absolutely giant storm. BTW, hurricane categories are kinda broken, its not the wind that does the most damage, it is the storm surge and the rain.
