If this didn't have citation I would straight up refuse to believe it: "In a letter to the Chemical Warfare Service in Washington, D.C., Duquesne requested information on a new gas mask. He identified himself as a "well-known, responsible and reputable writer and lecturer". At the bottom of the letter, he wrote, "Don't be concerned if this information is confidential, because it will be in the hands of a good, patriotic citizen." A short time later, the information he requested arrived in the mail and a week later it was being read by intelligence officers in Berlin."

@@JackRackam i think its worth noting that there was a worrying increase in antisemetic rhetoric in ira publications during the second world war and the nazis went and hosted some prominent ira leaders in germany, trying to find themselves an ally. theres an irish nationalist slogan that goes like "englands difficulty is irelands opportunity" - and the people who really threw their whole lot in behind that clearly didnt mind what the nazis were about if it meant they got to harm their most hated enemy maybe homeboy was just so blinded by his hatred of the english he didnt care what happened in germany (though realistically being lgbt or jewish in america at the time wasnt exactly a basket of sunshine so, like, dude was probably just a huge bigot like most of everyone else in his peer group)

I can see this being a movie told interview style, where Fritz is in prison for the last time talking to his cell mate who occasionally interrupts the narrative with a "bullshit" or "that didn't happen." Each time we return to the present where he's telling his story, the crowd of inmates around him slowly grows larger and larger. As the story progresses, the *one* guy that keeps calling him on his shit gets more and more angry glares from the other prisoners. He's just such a charming bastard that they can't help but admire his hustle, even the bits about helping the Krauts.

office reference 3:32 original quote: "What is my perfect crime? I break into Tiffany's at midnight. Do I go for the vault? No, I go for the chandelier. It's priceless. As I'm taking it down, a woman catches me. She tells me to stop. It's her father's business. She's Tiffany. I say no. We make love all night. In the morning, the cops come and I escape in one of their uniforms. I tell her to meet me in Mexico, but I go to Canada. I don't trust her. Besides, I like the cold. Thirty years later, I get a postcard. I have a son and he's the chief of police. This is where the story gets interesting. I tell Tiffany to meet me in Paris by the Trocadero. She's been waiting for me all these years. She's never taken another lover. I don't care. I don't show up. I go to Berlin. That's where I stashed the chandelier." -Dwight season 5 episode 8

Speaking about crazy stories involving children and spears: The South African navy had a Daphne class submarine named in honour of Johanna van der Merwe, who was a 13 year old teenager at the time she took part in the Great Trek. When king Dingaan attacked the unsuspecting Trekboers after he had murdered Piet Retief's delegation to his court, Johanna's family were victim to the attacks (at the Weenen massacre) and she sustained more than 20 spear stab wounds (the Zulu short spear is called an ilkwa, but the English made up the word "assegaai" for it), but managed to survive by hiding in a tree for the rest of the night and sought help the next morning. When the ANC took power in South Africa, the navy, now under new command, renamed the SAS Johanna van der Merwe to...the SAS Assegaai.

@Kroi Albanoi it takes experience to craft weapons and tactics. Africa is and was a big place, people and society varied quite a lot, but the thing is Africa, even before colonial powers had a foothold, had (most parts) a denser population than native Australia. With virtually no contact with the rest of the world for 40k or more years and such a dispersed population, the chances of major conflicts and major empires to arise are slim

It would be a bit hard. Toliken isn't exactly a shounen or seinen protagonist (which this site usually cover), he's _shoujo protagonist._ _80's Shoujo_ protagonist.

@@rusdanibudiwicaksono1879 Yeah but he is absolutely cool. He is like the King of Linguists! He made whole languages from scratch! THEN for fun he made lore surrounding them. He had a great academic career! He worked for the dictionary! He was an officer in the war! He did so much! Besides we could use the story of a scholarly man and unless Jack wants to do that guys who saved all the Viking lore I don't know who else.

@@rusdanibudiwicaksono1879 He has to do one on Christopher Lee at least, he was a shounen protagonist if there ever was one.
