@@ALLCITY_NBA I just want to thank y’all and the basketball gods that, finally, a national podcast didn’t shoe-horn in absurd discussions about the Lakers and the Warriors. “Well done” is always better than “well said”, and those two teams need to be firmly in the former category before national pundits start force-feeding most of American 25% of their broadcast time discussions on 2 teams that will probably struggle to be in the play-in tournament. It’s disrespectful to, for example, Kings fans that those teams get ignored because lazy people want to regurgitate narratives about aging stars. Legler and SVP are a dying breed at 🤡SPN.

But kudos to both getting paid a ton to stir the racial pot of division in today's society. Unfortunately it's where the USA is today. As MLK preached Equal Justice which is anything but equal today there are many platforms in life to push your agenda & earn $. Just seems today the old Good Cop Bad Cop, Black/ White, Rich/Poor seems possibly more divided Unfortunately. Sports stars are our modern day Gladiators getting paid millions but unfortunately being physically destroyed for the elites & media. The numbers are not sustainable. In Dallas system Klay may not need to move as much as in GSW to get a clean look. Extending his career in the NBA at the same time
@tiredbasketballfanАй бұрын
His movement in GSW was part of their offensive strategy, not a necessity dictated by opponent defenses. There's a difference between stagnant and movement shooters, and Dallas could actually benefit from using him that way. It's not like he was only moving because GSW weren't as good anymore, he's been doing it for over a decade

@@tiredbasketballfan Klay is 34 and has proven lately to be a much better stationery shooter than shooting on the run. Playing as a spot up shooter will prolong his career because his value as a catch and shoot guy remains very high. The gist of the comment was that the Dallas system suits this version of Klay.
@tiredbasketballfanАй бұрын
@@glorious644 I get that, but I don't necessarily agree. It makes sense for stationary shooting to be more efficient, but that isn't always an possibility, so you need to have multiple ways to be effective. I'm curious which stats you found that demonstrate he's declined significantly as a movement shooter? The ones I found don't suggest a big gap from his prime, but maybe you looked at different ones. Personally, I thought Klay can be one of the driving forces for Dallas to change their system a bit, make it less stagnant and more versatile. I even thought I heard some sources from the team mentioning something along those lines, but I could be wrong.

@timothyclay8369Ай бұрын
And I noticed the other day, that he was shooting 90% from the free throw line at one point prior to joining the Mavs. Can you imagine Luka shooting 40% from 3, and 90% from the line. I think that it's coming eventually (barring any unforeseen injury).

Mavs added Klay Naji & Grimes. All amazing to above average at worst 3point shooters and defenders even though klay obviously isnt in his prime anymore but he still averaged 18ppg on 39% 9 3pt FGA a game. Great roster and one of the deepest bench ITL. Also spence, great ball handler and can create shots and clutch and was a huge part of that 2022 WCF run. They even have a 7’5 defensive stopper. They were just a few pieces away from beating Boston and I think they’ll be able to this time with hopefully a HEALTHY Luka and Kyrie getting over the hump. Whoever they meet, I think they will beat. I feel like they should and will win it this year💯💯

I’m hoping this year you’ll see Luka being a little less stubborn about his shooting. In the playoffs after he got hurt his three-point shot was garbage in a bunch of games but he never once had a bad shooting game from two point range. It’s a little more work and he takes more physical abuse but I think if he had just stopped at 0-3 in some of those games and shot inside the line the rest of the game they would’ve had a better chance of beating Boston. When the step back three is falling, launch away. But if it’s not there should be enough floor spacing that he gets open looks with normal 3pt shots. After the first full practice they asked Klay who impressed him the most and the one person he’s singled out was Marshall. He said that Naji was hitting long shots, shots in the post, and floaters. I think by the end of the year people are going to recognize how good the three new pick ups are and that Dallas is the best team in the West. On top of that Dinwiddie gives them not only experience but a taller guard who can play some offense and defense in key moments. I think Hardy is going to have a tough time finding minutes.
@vantianhergheligiu12Ай бұрын
vs Boston it was hard for him to get his 2 going cause Boston was cheating hard off the top of they key. and the rest of the mavs were shooting terrible from there. like 20%.
@SDesWriterАй бұрын
@@vantianhergheligiu12 they were averaging 52 ppg in the paint against Boston (with no lob threat). Not saying he wasn’t being guarded, but they couldn’t stop him or anyone else on the team. It was just the constant three-point shots they were missing that killed them. There was plenty of opportunity for more 2pt scoring but they kept launching 3s assuming they would eventually start falling.

@wileyschmittАй бұрын
*Adam sounds like a bit of a moron. Towns didn't win the Nuggets series for the Wolves, and he's just parroting what every Towns apologists says about him guarding Jokic well in the series, when in reality he was just a change of pace as they threw 3 different bigs at Jokic to throw him off his game a bit. It worked, but let's not act like Towns is a good defensive big by any stretch, he's awful on that side of the court and everyone knows it.

@donaldw12318Ай бұрын
Mares got his nuggets goggles on for the wolves trade. It unquestionably helps the wolves vs the rest of the league and naz improved on his Jokic defense as the series went on (see game 7). Sure kat is a better shooter but some of that is shot selection (he’s better off the catch and in the corner), last year was a down year (shot 2% worst than kat two years ago and 40% four years ago) and he had a 120 offensive rating with Robinson (Brunson had no problem with spacing). On top of the fact that there biggest need in the mavs series was a shot creator outside of ant. Plus if the spacing is rough naz will play more cause randle overlaps less with naz than kat. Not to mention adding dd. No brainer
@farming4gАй бұрын
If Randle with buy in with the wolves and come off the bench and let Naz start, that 2nd unit would allow randle to be more ball dominant and an initiator... Ant and Randle both need their touches.
