My favorite thing about the Clown Car Bouncy Castle of Fun was how it came and went in cycles. Everything would be bouncing around like crazy, then magically they all find a calm spot for 3 or 4 seconds, then one boops into another and they're going crazy again.

My guess for the pow setups are that they are set to be a solid entity but also set to never crush or kill the player. And that's how they're able to push you through walls.

In other levels, level elements that _can_ and frequently are _made_ to crush the player also work (launchers, notably). My theory is that the game is only checking whether the character needs to be crushed every in-game "tick" of time, but if the element moves the player faster than it can register that you were supposed to be crushed against a wall, you can pass through it instead, as long as there's a space available every time the game goes to check for crush. Pretty sure there's a similar trick in SM64 TASes where you can build up speed on Mario (to access PUs/QPUs), but you still need to "land" on ground every time the game checks.

Even after looking at the level viewer I don't understand how the setup "switch the on-off block when the ice block thaws" (4:20 and 5:00) works. Are the ice blocks somehow "linked" with another block? I knew it was possible to link hitting a *hidden block* to an activation like this, but I think that's the first time I saw it with thawing an ice block.
