Fun fact, Prey 2017 was actually called Typhon before Bethesda forced Arkane to use the Prey name, hence within the ImSim/Prey 2017 fan communities the game is often refered to as Typhon instead of Prey.

The Hunt, Sweet Dreams (Peralez), I Walk The Line (Placide), Disasterpiece (Evelyn), Play It Safe (the parade), soo many good quests with action, clue solving, and immersive atmosphere, on top of crazy fun action in those with lots of combat (I Walk The Line, Disasterpiece, Play It Safe) :) The Hunt was SO creepy, and Sweet Dreams too in a different way.

I can't remember the name of the mission, but when you rescue the kid (possibly the same as the Braithwaite manor mission?) and then your all around the campfire after (not sure if it's technically part of the mission), plus the mission where you get drunk in the bar with Lenny is so unique. That's when I realised the game was one of the best ever made.

''The Course of True Love II'' was the most legendary RDR2 Mission. The music, the scripted sun setting, the hazy tabbaco fields and a cowboy trodding along on his horse really, really showcased the brilliance of that game. Of course most people probably just quickly blasted through that mission and didn't really take it in as i did but yeh, was an epic moment for me.

The Hunt was an amazing yet horrifying quest, it pulled at my heart strings, and made me physically sick. I've never had another game do that to me. Amazing game. Another good quest was killing moon quest, the whole phantom liberty DLC was a mindf*ck, and I didn't know who I could trust. One of my favorite DLCs

I'm glad to see that a classic COD mission was mentioned in your list. I recently replayed the peak COD games (in my opinion) starting from COD 4 up to Black Ops 2, in order. I remember my neck freezing up as a kid when I played through All Ghillied Up and I always fucked up the crawling part, it took some growing up a few years later to finally beat that mission haha. There's this one mission that I really appreciated now that I'm older and consider it in my most memorable and legendary missions, Black Cats from World at War. For a 15 minute rail shooter mission, it hits hard and heavy with the short story, voice acting, intensity, and in my eyes the best thing it has, the music. I highly recommend anyone to give that mission a try and experience it firsthand like I did.

My favourite missions and feelings that I remember from games, 1. The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine: La Cage Au Fou The atmosphere, voice acting, weather, music and sound effects takes you to another world. The moment you reach the location, it's an otherworldly experience. It makes you realize why The Witcher 3 is so loved. 2. Hogwarts Legacy: Intro The moment you start the game and till you sorted into the house has been done incredibly well. The music, voice acting, locations and introduction to the story was beyond nostalgic. The overall game is 7.5-8/10 but the intro for me is 10/10. 3. Red Dead Redemption 2: The last two debt collection missions It's the debt collecting mission from man named Arthur. He died. The way Arthur says sorry to her is just heartbreaking. I have never heard better voice acting from any video game character than that. Also, when you meet the Nun at the station. The scene that told me that why I spent $60, bought the game on launch day and played for 70 hours. The most real scene I have also seen in a video game. It felt like Arthur was a real human at that moment. 4. A Plague Tale: Innocence - The whole game For a few years, I used to buy 8-10 rated AAA games only because I didn't want to spend too much money on games. However, this game changed everything. I got the game for free. I felt so good after playing the game that I wanted to pay full price for it. The time period the game takes place in is just beautifully haunting. 5. Uncharted 3: Plane Mission The best set-piece I had ever witnessed in a game in terms of cinematic and believability. It's a thing I can showcase to anyone I know and they will be impressed. I played that part 20+ times just to show to non-gamers and none were disappointed. All of them were glued to the TV. 6. Half-Life Alyx: The intro sequence It just feels real. I was so amazed by the graphics, scale and interactivity that I forgot everything. This was something that all gamers dream about. Being in the game without consequences. 3 and half years later no game can match Half-Life Alyx's immersion. AAA VR game, we may not get for another 10 years. 7. Horizon Series I always wanted people to be alive inside the mountain. I really did. It lead me to play the whole game. I just wanted to know about the past more and more. That usually never happens to me in a game. This game got me back into gaming because after playing The Witcher 3, I thought no game will surpass that. I didn't care much about the tribes but the past I wanted to know everything. Then the VR version came out, and you were able to see the scale of all machine. 8. Red Faction: Guerilla The red planet, I can never forget that. I played it at low settings on my PC. It ran badly but the shooting was really fun. The first open world game I ever played. Before that I used to play WWE, NBA 2K and many linear action adventure games. 9. Shadow of the Colossus: The first monster VR isn't the first time scale surprised me so much. This was it. I had no idea what I bought for my PS2. I just got it. I stood there for 5 minutes, real time, just looking at size of the monster. The moment I killed it, I felt bad because of the music but it did make me feel as a 14 year old. 10. Age of Empires 2: The story narration at the beginning of every campaign mission It made me interested in learning the history of the world and about our past. It was 2004 when my brothers used to play it. I used to watch. The first time we got a computer. Somehow, even now when I go to that game, it reminds me of those times while also being a good game. There are too many to mention on a list but these are what I remember right now.

I remember Jacksepticeye saying something like the game really makes you feel tired and when you make your delivery and enter the private room you'll feel relieved. It really feels like you've just finished your job for the day. I couldn't agree more with him. The game really puts you in Sam's shoes and I love it. I know that people don't like it and even make memes about the "strand type game", but honestly I want to see more of walking type games, because in some games I actually do enjoy just walking around. Like I've been thinking about a game where you walk through a post apocalyptic country in one continuous gameplay where you can do parkour and make a tent to sleep and save the game. In your journey, you'll come through many different old world structures and even some random players. Basically a combination of DS, Dying Light, The Last of Us, and Journey. That's my dream game.

Also I know it’s not quite the same but I’d like to throw out two more missions that I believe are absolutely iconic. The first one isn’t a “mission” per se but the ending of the first chapter of Yakuza 0, storming the Dojima Family HQ culminating in the first Kuze boss fight, is what made me absolutely fall in love with the game. Secondly, there’s a ton of missions in Red Dead 2 that I think go above and beyond in terms of being genuinely epic and amazing, but special props to “My Last Boy” and “Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern” for being beautiful, stylish, cinematic missions

Great video! For Fallout 3, I would have personally chosen The Power of the Atom. Nuking Megaton was and always will be one of the most surreal experiences I’ve had in a video game. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever had the same feeling in a game since. The mix of shock, awe, and sadness when you realize what you’ve done will never be topped for me.

Paragon of her kind from Dragon Age Origins. I've never been as shocked in any game as much as by the revelations of the nature of the darkspawn in that quest. The claustrophobic tensions you feel after several areas of the deep roads, paired with the mad dwarf whispering her poem leading up to the boss fight ... utterly chilling and still so damn memorable even after 14 years. "because it just wasn't clicking" is imo the perfect description of Prey. I can't say why because the idea is really great and the presentation is really well done, and horror sci-fi is totally my thing, but the game never managed to make me care for any of the characters, the station or most of the plot. The enemies appear to be super intriguing from outside but most of them end up being mostly annoying after half the game. The mimic ability is so unique and yet it somehow doesn't excite. I feel like this game has so much potential idea wise, but for reasons I can't put a finger on, it doesn't live up to them.

I was so pleasantly surprised someone else appreciates Noveria as much as i do. One more thing i'd like to add to your amazing assessment is how the initial spaceport area makes you feel while replaying the game and knowing what is yet to happen. It's maybe the final peaceful, serene area you get to experience. The blizzard outside, the mysterious, but relaxing music... I'd spend hours just standing in the spaceport absorbing it all in. It's really one of the greatest video game levels ever created.

Some missions I wanna add that still stick with me to this day: 1. Uncharted 2 - the whole train mission/sequence (and I love how it all circled back to the game's intro) 2. GTA 4 - The Bank Heist 3. COD: WAW - Vendetta (but holy shit this game has so many banger chapters though, it's hard to pick one when Black Cats, Heart of the Reich, and Downfall are also in the same game) 4. Resistance 2 - Bryce Canyon (but the Chicago level is a close second with that last boss) 5. COD: MW2 - Cliffhanger (I just love snowy missions, and this is one of the few missions in MW2 I still play from time to time)

The Kafei and Anju quest in Zelda Majoras Mask will forever be my favorite Some others tho: The Cave of Dreams in Witcher 3 shows some great insight into characters minds including Geralt’s Fears. Hidden in Plain Sight in Uncharted 4 has the best puzzle in any naughty dog game as well as some of the best action in any game. The Man With No Name missions in RDR is one of the best stranger mission in any rockstar game and has a great reference to classic westerns. The First Chapter of resident Evil 4 is the pinnacle of game openings IMO and obviously very popular. Helping the Wookiee Liberate Kashyyk in Kotor 1 is also incredibly moving.

As someone else has already pointed out in another comment, I love the fact that you constantly bring up Prey in most of your videos. Initially, I actually bounced off the game a few years ago, but I came back to it after watching a video where you sing it’s praises. I’m really glad I did because it ended up being a great experience that has really stuck with me ever since. That being said, have you considered ever doing a full-length video covering the entirety of the Prey? I could be in the minority, but I would love to see a multi-hour analysis/your thoughts on the entire game. I know that would be a departure from your usual content, but watching and hearing someone rant on and on about a game they love and why it’s so good is such a nice change of pace from constantly being inundated with content creators who make negative “critiques” on every single game. While critiques that explain both the good and bad of a game, movie, book, or other work of art are VERY important and certainly have place in the analysis of all art forms, the cycle of negativity that often spawns from people who cannot sit by and just let people be happy with something is exhausting. A great example of this is when the predominantly Fallout-oriented KZbinr, Many a True Nerd, published multiple videos on why Fallout 3 and 4 are “better than you think”, but then other KZbinrs, specifically Creetosis in this instance, created rebuttal videos on why these games are “not better than you think.” These response videos spent hours explaining step-by-step why the Bethesda Fallout games are bad games, presenting MATN’s arguments as (somehow) objectively wrong and “moronic” (that’s an actual quote too). The rebuttal videos raised good points too, but the excessively rude manner in which they were presented and the fact that it comes across as an attempt to tear down what is a rare example of a positive-oriented, relatively deep analysis of a very flawed game that already gets plenty of hate, it all left a bad taste in my mouth and left me feeling exhausted of the constant negativity surrounding others’ attempts to add some positivity into the conversation and world as a whole. Sorry for the rant; I didn’t realize I had as much to say on that topic as I do. All of that being said, I really appreciate your general positivity when discussing games, and it would be really cool to see you do a long video covering Prey from start to finish. (Also, you are correct, Cyberpunk 2077 was always a phenomenal game even though it had an excessive amount of bugs for many people.)

Such a great video!! I think a couple others that belong in the list are Money Lending and Other Sins from RDR2 and the moving house level toward the end of Control. Money Lending and Other Sins is the single best story side mission I’ve ever played and I swear several movies could be made of just that one alone. The moving house level in Control is just mind blowing, especially with the namesake song blaring through the whole level.

For me the Fountain head Palace from sekiro is one of the most beautiful and stunning areas/quests i've ever seen in a game. From the introduction to the palace, with the rope monster, to the Corrupted monk (Amazing fight btw), then the palace with all of it's amazing and fun enemies to fight. And lets not forget the lake with the masive carp in it.... And finally one of the best boss fights i've ever had in any game, the Divine Dragon, this boss fight was so stunning, the scenery was so stunning, the execution was amazing and it just felt so rewarding to finally get there.. 100% one of the best places i've ever played through and i'll never forget it.

I think the Shadow Moses level of MGS4 deserves a mention. It's a haunting moment for Snake and the player as we return to where it all started in the first MGS. From the soundtrack welling into these harrowing but beautiful songs, to the hidden flashbacks hitting you like PTSD episodes and the bossfight redux of Sniper Wolf followed by a literal mech battle between Metal Gear Rex and Metal Gear Ray, piloted by Snake and Liquid respectively, it's just such an incredible mission that celebrates everything that makes MGS great. It's painful, it's bittersweet, it's ridiculous, it's funny, it's sad and it's emotional. It's the love letter to the fans in a game that's meant to be serviceable at an insane degree. It's also the penultimate chapter, just before all hell breaks loose and Snake's story comes to a heartbreaking finale.

Not that Prey doesn't deserve to be here but I love your love for that game spills over into almost every one of your videos. The game didn't end up clicking with me but I'm sure it's amazing just based on how well you've articulated the game's strenghts on this channel. Prey is a game that requires the player's full attention from the first minute, and nowadays it's really difficult for me to do between work, family and working out. It's easy with something like Armored Core 6 where I only have to focus in for a specific period during boss fights before I can relax again. Prey is a different beast though and I totally appreciate just how much it demands from the player and gives back in return. Reminds me of Half-Life (the OG) from when I was a kid. Games that absorbing are very few and far in between. Thank you for the great videos and I look forward to see Prey being mentioned in future videos too :)

I'd add something from Disco Elysium and a Monastery quest or "the one that ends in drinking with a priest" quest from Kingdom Come Deliverance. Maybe something from Morrowind, where you have to make through tough encounters while also not getting lost and understanding the clues. I love that selection, at least the RPG(adjacent) and Immersive Sim-y part, no Halos and the likes for me, I don't shoot in games if I don't have a character sheet and some stats/skills behind that shooty gameplay

I'm so glad you put whodunit in here. That was the first quest that came to mind reading the title of this. Oblivion had such fun quests. You can kill a guest by waiting until a specific time when one of them sits in a chair, going upstairs and loosening a deer mount on the other side of the wall, causing it to fall on the dudes head and kill him. I was so surprised to see Death Stranding here. It is my favourite game ever, and has some incredible orders. I think the best order in the game is Order 70 - I won't spoil it here as it is the last story mission in the game, but will say it is one of the most emotional, heartfelt and upsetting moments in gaming possibly ever. The resolution of HOURS worth of gameplay and narrative, crashing down in one big, cinematic finale. Subscribed.

What a well made video! I wanted to mention a gaming moment i myself had, not so much the mission, but the ramifications of the mission. I spent way too much time in Riverwood on my first play through of Skyrim. I returned to Riverwood shortly after defeating my first dragon, and there is another one attacking the village. I managed to defeat said beast, but not without seeing a few downed guards, and the blacksmith’s wife dead in his arms surrounded by his crying children. Most games have situations play out regardless of your choices and actions, but i wondered if i could “win better”. I reloaded a save file, and prevented casualties. People wonder about what the next level of gaming will be like. It’s about branching outcomes. I still love how the devs put that in Riverwood even tho i reloaded as it made me feel for those NPCs.

I've just started the video (and already the editing is pulling me in!) but I just wanted to put in my 2 cents. I'm not a huge fan of fantasy stuff besides Lord of the Rings and Dark Souls. I just can't get into those types of stories, like for example, FF14. I don't doubt it's a fantastic game, but the story sounds so convulded it turns me off playing those games. I started playing the Witcher 3 and was sort of interested, but the Bloody Baron quest was absolutely what got me fully interested in the game and the story. It was such a beautifully fleshed out quest, with such fantastic characterisation. It really left an impact on me and I've played a lot of the "amazing" story games. Every time I see the Baron in a video I remember the emotions I felt playing it - how the game made him SO human, with such complex feelings. It made me realise that the writers of The Witcher (not just 3, the whole universe) actually care about the story they're trying to tell. It pulled me right into the game and I am so fucking glad I finished it.

That slope downwards the Port Knot City really made me understand why people liked Kojima's games. I have never played any MGS before Death Stranding but for some reason, when I got to that slope, it made wonder how entrancing MGS series are. So, because of that one short and relaxing walk down in that barren landscape, it gave me enough incentive to finish Death Stranding (and loved the numerous amounts of weirdness throughout) and bought MGS V (also loved it, but somewhat confused since I don't have the context from the previous games). I plan to buy every MGS games at some point but I am still saving up my allowance to get it.

Lone wolf from halo reach holds a place in my heart forever, it is the culmination of a wonderful and tragic storyline the first time i played it i couldn’t believe i lost and i tried and tried again to win but just wasn’t able to. it embodied the whole idea of the game the fact that you couldn’t save reach no matter how u tried that noble teams story was all ready written you cant save them, it was perfect.

For me, the best cutscene ever is right after you fight off some dogtown dab guys as V while Songbird remote pilots a giant spider mech. She loses control of the mech which goes haywire on V, desperately crawling through walls and chaotically destroying everything in its path to get to you as V visibly panics, trying to get away.
