The iconic Fairbairn-Sykes fighting knife, developed by Fairbairn and Eric Sykes and made famous by its adoption as official combat knife of the British Army Commandos and other units. Notably, this knife, or dagger continues in production, in Sheffield, England and is still purchased today by British Royal Marine Commandos - the inheritors of the first Army Commandos raised in 1940.

Funny to attribute this knife design to WW2. ... This knife is not much different in design, and in no difference in purpose than the knightly daggers from the 12th and 13th centuries. Look at the Rondel dagger or the Baselard knife. Nearly identical in form and function. The Fairbairn Sykes knife was merely a realization of "hey we need this thing again!". It's an age old way to kill a person with a blade. Humans and blades have not changed that much in 1000 years.
