This reminds me alot of Davey Wreden's The Beginner's Guide. Sometimes the relationship between player and game, or even player and dev, is exactly like this. As a player, we consume and devour the content of the game and demand more when there's nothing more the game can offer, and the devs might try to satiate that never ending hunger with more, even at the determent of the game itself, or tell the players it's time to move on. Sometimes, the game isn't for the player, it's for the dev. Maybe it's a pet project that's meant to be a learning experience, or as a way to judge if their "worthy" or not to be a dev.

Honestly to me this is a very effective meditation on the creative process. Wanting people to like your art but not being able to share. Rick Rubin talks about this in “The Creative Act” creating something brings something into reality and limits it’s possibilities. He mentions though “the impossible aspects stay in your mind despite the reality on your canvas, but that doesn’t mean those potentials are dead; you can repurpose them

I'm so happy about the ending of this game! I was legit sad with how much the creator character pushed away the people who wanna play. I'm not a game designer but I am a creative type and the fear is real. I felt so sad at the beginning but so happy by the end!

You should play the game Killer Frequency. You play as a radio host and have to help people calling in to escape a killer on the loose. It's kinda similar to Do you copy?, but a bit longer and more exploration. It's very fun!

41:34 the door was part of the message there. there was no door in the game originally, but he added it and more stuff to make the game better, always thinking it needs more. but by doing more and more he also got more self doubts. but he knew he couldn't succeed making just the game he wanted And you even confirmed this by giving the bad grade because of the missing door, which on one side shows that he put more pressure on himself and more expectations on people who play it by adding stuff which could've been prevented by not adding anything

AWE, MATPAT, YOU NEED TO SEE WV IN DA DAYLIGHT! I grew up right on the Ohio border of West Virginia and since I left after highschool, driving back home through the mountains is so refreshing and humbling after being away so long. You should really stop and visit some of the tourist spots like Hawk's Nest, Blackwater Falls, Summersville Lake and it's New River Gorge mountain trail. So beautiful and so worth it.
