Gary is amazing. Not anyone can take an amazing product and do what you have done. These are practical and not cosmetic modifications. Im a lifelong fan. You are super cool man. Matt all the the way from South Africa

I'm liking this series. Thank you for going to check all the mills out. I love the old circular mills. Gary certainly is next level. Very nice. Could you tell what kind of loader Gary has there to load his mill?

Just found your channel. This was pretty neat. I'm a retired log buyer and have enjoyed doing a fair amount of woodworking. Going to subscribe and see how this goes. Have a good day and Thank You for your service 🇺🇸🇺🇸

One addition I would make is a small hopper on the sawdust discharge that could be tripped at the end of the cut and dumped into a skip pan. This will make clean-up under the mill easier.

Great Video. I don’t live to for from Gary’s sawmill. I may contact him to see a live demo of the mill. Plans are to purchase a new TK in 2024

I'd really like to see a comparison of this size TK with a Wood Mizer LT70. We need another mill for a stationery operation, but will be running 3-phase electric to power it because it's much less expensive to operate and maintain than diesel. I really like the TK mill but am thinking the WM still is what will serve us better., but I'd like to see another perspective.

really good video i hope all the sawmill companies see this a lot of the things he was done are low cost and are very cheap for them to up grade like the wiper set up. take care. be safe and well.

Where the computer is mounted could that be changed to where it could be folded upwards so not to be rear ended while traveling?

Great video Thomas and Gary! We love to see this and are enjoying watching your journey. Keep in mind that some of the additions are not able to be added directly through TimberKing due to safety (mainly the detent on the forward motion and do not suggest the blade guard being cut back) however we love to see the customizations that you have come up with!

Thanks, Jason. Gary came out to one of my sawmill shows a few years back and really hot it off. He's got a lot of good ideas to add to his sawmill. I love getting out there and seeing other sawyers' setups. Lots more content still to come!

CMDR this is by far a great video. When will you be retiring from the Navy? can wait until then, to see this site take off. All the additions are 4.0 and can be used on most mills. Thanks for this site and what you do for the Navy

Thanks for the kind words. I've got a few years left. Trying to be a CO of a shipyard before I retire. I love my sawmills and the Sawyer community.

How much would it change the cost of this machine if all of the add on’s he has installed were added by TimberKing?

Great video guys!! Quick question. Any idea why the wall coming down from the roof is stepped on one side and even height on the other? Thanks in advance!
@MrMrkody1009 ай бұрын
On the discharge side I’ll be adding a side “lean-to” room to store slabs, etc. Extra vertical height is for height of the room. The other sides are as low as practical to reduce rain hitting the mill.

I own an electric 1620. Is there any modification to do away with sweeps and install hydraulic dogs?

Loved the content, but may I make a suggestion concerning the video production. A remote mic on the person being interviewed is needed. Your voice behind the camera is very loud and the other person's volume is much lower. This becomes very noticeable while using headphones. I was constantly changing volume levels to enjoy this video. Keep up the good work and your enthusiasm for the subject matter is always appreciated.

I noticed it also, but in defense for Thomas, he was on a road trip, probably only had his I phone.

@@TCSawmills Have you had the opportunity to see a Timber Buddy XP-380 sawmill? It's hard to find info online as it's Amish built but it's a beast and totally customizable. There are some videos on it though. Not really a portable unit though as it's massive

Another of his good mods is removing most of the Timberking logos. I find them a bit offensive in their size and double placement.
