It's funny to me because this cheat should have been fairly obvious given that it says "contrails" in its name. Contrail is a combination of condensation trails, which are those wakes left behind by airplanes when they're flying around in the sky. That's where the term "chemtrail" came from, the conspiracy idiots who think that planes are spreading toxic gases on purpose. It was a play on the term contrail.

This is hilarious. The ribbons aren't even elongated to any truly absurd standards. It would've been actually trippy if the lengths were stretched to such a ridiculous amount that the whole sky was just spaghetti trails.

I heard that this cheat made ship trails look different, but assumed that was wrong since they looked the same whenever I tried the cheat. This makes a lot more sense knowing that it only works on a small number of specific ships.

The explanation online about the cheat was a total lie with no evidence, which then following gaslit the entire internet. Xem was added to continue the lying as a joke. It very clearly isnt a xem video, with the blurry, low quality, poorly cut out pic of xem. That's all just so it looks similar to a xem video while clearly not being one. Tldr: origin of the online explanation is a lie, Xem is a big RaC influencer, it's a joke about how easy it is to lie on the internet

I remember hearing this also effected the trails from the hoverboards in the races. But I was never able to do any of the sequences required to activate any of the cheats.

Wow, it's nice to finally know what this does. I remember as a kid i thought it made the movement on water when Ratchet swimmed in it last longer. Maybe it was because of it's name. I used to play in spanish, but i dont remember how it was called in that lenguaje

The cheat code in Up Your Arsenal to exchange your wrench for one of the double bladed laser laser swords that the robot ninjas carried was the most interesting to me. The game insists that it's purely a cosmetic difference just for fun, and that the laser sword behaves the exact same way as the wrench does, but I swear every time I use it, the laser sword has a noticeably longer range than the wrench. I use it on difficult levels and the Qwarktastic Battle because it lets you melee enemies from a further distance.
