These towers used to be used in the early days of the game, but now there are so many towers there isn't a point. I remember the first Christmas event and the best tower was juggernaut. Laser Gunner and Artillery were very good options.

Back on launch a year ago before warship. Juggernaut and Rail gunner were peak. Any tower was usable. And Laser gunner was considered the pinnacle of a starting tower. John has addressed the issue. And has stated it will be fixed, hopefully around the teased Nightmare update. as someone who owns ever single tower event or not event. It just feels odd having such a selection yet only around 3 - 4 of them that truly stand out in power over the others.

Sniper was peak but stopped being used when op stuff came out, and mine layer got overshadowed by the golden version. Laser gunner got replace by golden ranger, and the same goes for juggernaut.

they should've made golden mine layer be much more focused on bosses instead of just being a better version of mine layer by just making it have a primary target damage, so the enemy that stepped on the mine would be dealt the same 1500 damage but the splash would do like barely anything like 200 damage or smth

mine layer was just powercreeped out of existence. not even needed for boss damage anymore due to other towers getting buffed and lots more dps options, and so many other towers can ignore explosive resistance which removed most of its use in endless while gold mine layer does pretty much everything better and can attack far range.

Patrol Boat can literally get you far on endless with hidden supports like Ghost and Sniper and you're good to go at any game mode. It's just literally a mini Warship.

As an old player...back in the day for early game the ONLY good option we had was laser gunner, and that was only changed when granger and slammer stuff came out, and believe me I got so tired of using laser gunner very fast...atleast there are even more cost efficient mid-late game towers now like mobster that add variety

Yeah, TXN has been used in a lot of strats just because if the extra 10% dmg boost, but flame trooper is much better applying the dmg increase against normal enemies. The only difference is that Toxicnator applies the dmg boost to bosses while flame trooper doesnt

Well I am not surprised, these towers are mainly used by newer players (lvl 0- 60) and not by higher level players. We call it PROGGRESION, I know scary concept. Also with Artilery, you can make a knock-off warship with those but on land. Oh yeah and toxicator is still used alot tbh. John when buffing Patrol so people use it: I GAVE IT EVERYTHING EXEPT HIDDEN DETECTION WHAT MORE COULD THEY WANT? Me: Just give it hidden detection so the name actually makes sense. Patrol boat is cracked, first REAL DPS tower I bought and it can carry you, only if you play on water maps and bring some anti stealth with you.

One Problem with Laser Gunner is that he attacks with laser as his name says, and one major problem is that when endless mode came out it introduced Laser resistance and since the Laser Gunner attacks with only Laser and he doesn't get to ignore Laser resistance at all, it makes him really unreliable against Laser resistance enemies. Even Tower Battles and Halloween Event had Laser resistance with Tower Battles having only Hidden Enemies and Boss 3 with Laser resistance, but Halloween didn't have enemies with heavy Laser resistance. But i remember in the early times with only the 4 main modes Laser Gunner was super reliable.

I got a tip to remove CapCut. Make sure to smaller your gameplay. Then cut out the part to make it fullscreen and remove the watermark :) that’s what I do

I dont think laser gunner and patrol boat are that outclassed but i do believe they could use a buff, as in useful for early to mid game players but later dont get used as much by late game players unless they wanna try something, or it's their favorite tower.

Toxicator is a really OP tower. Possibly best splash tower to get before warship. And in John video where he did elite you can see why its so good. And keep in mind! That it got buffed. What i mean with buffed is that now you can get stealth on level 4 top path while it used to be 5.

I would swap artillery out with patrol boat, artillery is still used by lot of people on really any maps, its somewhat good against bosses too and can seriously deal a lot of damage with it having no pierce cap unlike other towers and ignore explosive resistance. Top is still useful for hoards and don't forget that artillery, unlike a lot of late game and high damage towers, CAN be buffed and healed. This even made it useful during the recent chapter 3 nightmare mode, skyhawk being used as a wall. Overrall patrol boat is really mediocure since it can't be placed on many maps, no recent event maps have water on them and maps that do have water on them, people don't play them very much.

Juggernaut's biggest weakness imo is it's the low range for it's price (bottom path) it has *18 RANGE* OPERATOR BOTTOM PATH GETS OUTRANGED BY 1 *GOD DAMN OPERATOR HAS ALMOST THE SAME RANGE AS A LATEGAME TOWER*

Me personally, i would say that grenadier and ONLY SOMEWHAT railgunner are also overlooked, as me personally, i NEVER used them, matter of fact, i didnt even buy grenadier yet, i low-key forgot he exists until the Xmas event started, because he's pretty useful in the event. But in a normal mode like expert for example, I'd rather just use: either flame trooper for AOE or slammer for the stun, grenadier is just really outclassed in my opinion. As for railgunner, i never really went "damn i wish i had railgunner equiped right now" i know that its a decent tower, however i literally never found a situation where i would need him outside of the Halloween event to deal with the flying enemies, but still, XWM did a better job at that 😅 Although railgunner is a good single target damage dealer, and a sub DPS option, I'd still rather use any other sub DPS option as its way more reliable, like the helicopter or XWM turret in endless.

Sniper is an amazing tower for early-mid with Ok Support and damage for Late game Reason is that sniper has lots of range, It's able to take down stragglers and deal enough damage to one shot some early game enemies. Problem is that the dps on Late game is very meh, Late game expects you to have alot of dps with a good amount of hp, Sniper is neither of those, and like counteriser said, It lacks crowd control, But why are you playing a tower defense game without crowd control towers. I have not used mine layer yet, But i imagine it would be a good straggler killer/boss killer with the only problem is their slow attack and incompetent users. I don't have cryo ranger (sadge) but i imagine it would be a good single target freezer able to keep up with faster enemies Toxinator actually deals a decent amount of damage, I haven't used it extensively but i can tell this tower has great early-mid game potential (If people arent incompetent that is) Laser gunner is... Uhh.. lets say i don't like it.. Sure its a good dps tower for Early-mid-late game... You... Don't really need a crazy amount of dps for early (unless bosses) and it gets outclassed in late game, so it's just amazing in mid-game... Again i must suck at this but... Arty is fun to use, Recommend only placing one Skyhawk, but I once you get it, You sweep house against any enemy with hp lower than 2000 and its controlled (Bonus points for the hp and explosive resistance)

Shotgunner is really useful for the speedrun strats and patrol boats is a really powerful tower only limited by the maps and hiddens so it's usually supported by a hidden remover

I would say patrol boat should be a part of this list as no one uses it beacuse its a water towers and it dosent have hidden detection the dps isint every good too and beacuse it has no hidden detection it cant be used as a early game tower or a mid or a late it also suffers from the fact that people dont know how to use it and it just gets thrown in the shadown and in reality it just a waste of a inventroy slot even tho it can help on maps like misleading pond but it still isnt good

tbh i still use laser gunner for non braindead expert runs. minelayer has always been a pretty bad tower, only used on release when many people didn't have any better towers. now it is too slow at everything, with its golden variant also being pretty much useless on expert (but it carries endless runs) it needs a complete rework tbh. sniper just needs a buff, i use it sometimes in elite/expert runs but it has awful ce on the early levels. bottom path is nice because it gives stealth reveal, but that's only useful in expert, but jammers also exist in expert so whenever you need to use it you can't. (the jammers are the worst thing in expert you either need to put a ghost in the back and remember to use the drone or get heli/warship) cryo ranger isn't overlooked 🛹atleast, it gets a fair bit of attention as the worst tower in the game. that being said, it's a good option if you want to get a 3-2 cryoranger to freeze some weaker bosses toxinator abilltiy is not just useful for bosses 🛹 it applies a entire 30% damage buff to standard enemies. this is really useful for those super buffed enemies in endless, and good against high health juggernauts in expert. the main problem is how useless the path without the ability is. you'd think they'd give it unlimited pierce, but it just ends up having slightly better cc with more drawn out effects, which is pretty bad for td games since it's all about optimizations once you've gotten everything nailed down. artillery just requires too much attention. it was a good pick for nightmare christmas and nightmare tb, but now it's really only good for elite. even then, skyhawk is too much of an investment when you're probably nearing plague doctor at that point.
