@@phynyxuzumaki1634 vortex is a bit different. vortex is when u are left standing after a combo and your opponent can attack you again. the difference is in a vortex you can block the next attack, but u have guess and block high or low. If you guess wrong, you eat another combo. If u guess right, you either get to punish them with ur own combo or at least go back to neutral. scorpion had a vortex in mk9. With smoke and cyrax it was way worse, they touch you and you're dead if you don't have breaker. It's all one giant combo you can't block.

She was good, but so were a lot of others, some of them much stronger. Doctor fate at top level both outzoned starfire and got better stuff close up. Batman had a jumpin combo that was basically a free 50/50. Darkseid was a zoner with 50/50s, and a way to force you to take the guess. Aquaman and Black Adam pre-patch were insane. Catwoman had insane stuff as well, that wasn’t ever fixed, unless I missed it. Firestorm too. Captain cold was broken in the hands of the right player. Like, starfire was strong, but the way he represented her here made her sound way stronger than she actually was considering the game she appeared in.

This only touches the surface on some of the brokenness of some of the NRS characters. MK9 Kabal & Kenshi Injustice 1 Martian Manhunter Pre-patch MKX Tanya (especially in Kobu Jutsu) The rabbit hole just goes even deeper. MK11 when the game first came out had some overpowered characters as well, that being Erron, Geras, and Sonya, but we never got top tiers to the degree of previous NRS games.

Another thing to mention for starfire is that Burning desire is a special move which can be cancelled into trait which is a high projectile with massive chip and pushback. So if they were expecting Starfire to meterburn it for the safe overhead, you had a mind game. Also Starfire had the longest reaching poke that was also the fastest in the game at 6 frames so anytime you blocked her, you had to respect the d1. Finally if the opponent somehow traded up close with her db1 (stardust) She could combo off her projectile for over 30% no meter, which could hit 50% if there was a stage bounce.

Martian Manhunter in Injustice wasn’t cheaper than Batgirl?! Hmm, interesting. He could lock down most characters anywhere on-screen. I thought Kabal was among the most broken in MK9 and Cyrax was heavy execution? Starfire was that good?! Tweedy and other players won tourneys with her?! I can’t remember the cheapest Injustice 2 characters lol

I would agree Manhunter is most broken especially because of his teleport. kabal was the most broken only against high hurtbox fighters. and even then, his rushdown required ridiculous precision to do his nomad dash cancels effectively out of his normals.

NRS's obsession with 50/50's was the reason I hated MKX and thought it was a game for scrubs. Too many players got to bybass learning neutral or learning how to open up their opponent. By simple giving everyone a 50/50, matches would often come down to who guessed right the most. I know other fighting game vets are gonna say there are 50/50's in every game but MKX seemed like it was centered around it.

I know I’m late, but I could tell something was up with Starfire when she was the only character my AI loadout usually had to rematch against a good 6+ times to continue a multiverse event.

It's funny. I had no clue that Starfire was so overpowered. I just enjoyed playing as her because not only am I a fan of Starfire (have been since the original Teen Titans), but she was just fun to play as.

I was expecting the launch version of Scorpion to be the Injustice character, dude was totally broken in a game where you had to block a direction, plus his launch damage was nuts

Launch scorpion was nuts. The entire top tower in that game was nuts actually, poor scorpion got nerfed back to hell and they left bat girl and mmh and aqua all alone

Fun fact: In Injustice 1 Scorpion gets beat by a simple neutral jump at sweep range. His wakeup attacks all miss and by jumping, you already have advantage because his anti-air was really bad. Try it and see for yourself.

I still have my PS3 even though I play a PS4. And I think I'm about to go and get on Injustice 1 and play against some people for a while if the server are still up that is. I like all fighting games but I really like the game when I played it. Hawkgirl was my main. Good video and keep up the good work. It really made me kinda miss my old fighting games.

Any overpowering character is fine in my list. The more powerful, the more awesome they are. They can be added in MK 11. I would include Cyrax, Batgirl, the Acidic Xenomorph Alien, Starfire, Black Lightening & Dr. Fate. What other characters are also overpowering for battles? Let me know.
