Fun fact : it was even more OP in real life, the russians lost only 1 Ilya Muromets bomber out of the 73 they built between 1913 and 1918. The precision of those bombers was at 90%. Those bombers completed more than 400 missions and dropped more than 65 tons of explosives on the enemy .

the issue i find is that in order to counter air vehicles you either have to use an air vehicle yourself, sit stationary in an AA gun which not much people find fun or engaging, or coordinate with other players on your team and focus fire which not many people seem to want to do. so most matches you end up with air vehicles decimating everything while noone is willing to actually band together to deal with them

@@MrZombert They where active during WW2.... this is WW1 bombers did not have the large impact it would have later on. A quarter of the brittish planes to give an example never even got to the bombing targets and those that did reach it in many cases missed them. Id argue in many ways strategic bombing and such was more impactfull on morale than in destructive value. Even fighter planes did not have the same scope, use and functionality it would later have. This was the war when planes first started to be used and doctrines formed to begin with. So they where no op... in many countries during the war there where lots of voices against continuing with bombraids and such due to costs and lack of results.

Totally agree with you, Jack. Yesterday I took the heavy bomber just to troll people, because i knew it was so bad. I've seen a half of an enemy team caping a flag. I dropped my bombs and got a freaking 13x multikill. I kept playing with heavy bomber for the entire round and ended up as 72:0 on the leaderboard. The best thing about this plane is the ridiculous amount of damage it can take. From now on, it's my default plane.

I personally have never been annoyed by a bomber, if I was though, I would grab the AA truck and clear up the sky from the back of the map in no time. The most annoying OP-ish thing is probably the explosives on maps with chokepoints like achi baba and fort de vaux.

In my experience you need a dedicated team to keep the heavy bomber alive. If you don't at LEAST have a tail gunner and a repairman with you, your kinda screwed. So no I don't think this plane is OP as it is very easy to shoot down with lmgs and AA.

TBH this footage looks either staged or the enemy team Jack got is totally braindead. Normally as soon as you spawn in the Ilya every support is locked on you and the thing is shredded by AA, AA-rocket guns and LMG's (other planes not so often but it happens) in max. 2 minutes. In order to stay airbourne in this thing you need a complete crew or at least a mate (you speak to) to repair and defend you.

If left unchecked, a player can quite possible go like 50-0 on certain maps, but even a few support players focus fire and it crumbles into pieces. I think planes are too easily destroyed in this game, they should be more pronounced.

I think you're right. In an average game, OP the first moments no one notices what's about to happen. When someone takes the initiative to take you down, pressure mounts. Then again, they give you five of the shells, and they explode like Chinese fireworks.

I'm using the heavy bomber since its released and it definitely became op after apocalypse. From previous cte changes I know that the cluster bomb range was almost double and the damage increased as well .

This bomber is like an elite class, you have to take them down quickly or in the right hands can be absolutely ridiculous. And end up the game for your team. So the trick is not to let bombers in the sky. Every map - mainly in Operations - I run to the closer AA gun and take down at least one plane fastest I can. Depending on the map and the skill of the pilot the MG15 is quite useful too.

Yet Alone those streaks only work on certain maps in operations anyways and can be just as much achieved with an attack plane, light tank or elite class. Every operation on Galacia has had at least one or two people using the bomber and absolutely destroying our team. What's the worst is when the fog rolls in and the plane can literally disappear and still see everyone. I'm a solo player so it's not like I can really do much against it unless there's an AA that I won't get immediately sniped off of.

Watching this two years in the future and just yesterday I left a game of conquest because there was a heavy bomber player with 47 service stars and a fighter player with 26 that kept curb stomping whatever enemy team you’re unfortunate enough to be on.

And the worst part is the Heavy Bomber can fly so high sometimes that you el are out of range from AA cannons, so if you’re like me and playing solo even if a couple of randoms try to focus the bomber with LMG’s the fighter plane will just clean you up before you can kill them.
