Doc Rivers has coached Garnett, Pierce, Allen, Rondo, Paul, Griffin, Jordan, Leonard, George, Embiid, Simmons, Harden, Antetokounmpo, and Lillard. That is at minimum, 10 hall of famers and all he has to show for it is a championship ring won for him by 3 top 75 players.

Doc Rivers modus operandi is basically " Place myself on highly talented teams and hope the players can figure shit out by themselves and get me a championship while I sit on my no adjustment havin ass and save my career because people are realizing I can't coach for shit in the playoffs even though it's my job to coach and if my team ever loses, then I'll just blame it on...well...timezones...and anyone but me...". Honestly screw this guy.

He's coached 16 consecutive winning seasons, has been to the second round of the playoffs 11 times, made the playoffs 19 times, and has a 2075-1208 coaching record.

Then he should have more than one chip! Being a coach who clearly peaks in the regular season every year shouldn’t keep landing him head coaching positions on teams who are serious about contending. The Bucks won a chip pretty recently, and Giannis isn’t going to be this great forever, so hiring a guy like Doc with his history of short exits in the playoffs is a mystery to me. But I appreciate the feedback.

@REAL_SportsTalk IMO, he's probably a top 5 active coach. There are a lot of active coaches with losing records, haven't won championships, etc. The Thunder is one of the top teams and their head coach's career record is 86-160, missing the playoffs all 3 years, no trophies. Minnesota is one of the top teams and their coach has a career record of 143-117, been to the playoffs twice, lost in the first round both times. Cleveland is #2 in the East and their coach has a career record of 207-256, lost in the first round of the playoffs twice, and missed the playoffs the other 5 seasons. In other words, Doc's track record holds up very well when you actually compare it to most other coaches. Doc actually has the second most career wins among active coaches (Pop has 1366, Doc has 1097, Carlisle has 896, Spoelstra has 704, KERR has 473, Vogel has 431). There are only 2 active coaches who have won a championship and have a higher win percentage than Doc. Btw, this might surprise you, but there's only 6 coaches in NBA history who have won more than 2 championships. There are 9 active coaches who have won at least 1 championship, and only 3 who have won more than 1. Now, if the conversation is about who the Bucks are hiring, you're not going to find many better non-retired coaches in the unemployment line. The only unemployed, non-retired coach who has won a championship is the coach that Milwaukee just fired, and Doc Rivers until just recently. There isn't another guy. Not unless you're looking to hire a 79-year-old who retired 13+ years ago like Phil Jackson or Pat Riley.

Well if you think he’s the best option for them, I suppose time will tell. I’m expecting more of the same from Doc in the playoffs, though. And I never thought they should’ve gotten rid of Mike Bootyholster, either. Seemed like a real scapegoat firing, and I would consider Doc Rivers a downgrade from him. But I’d be happy to revisit this conversation once we we get a look at Doc’s coaching in the playoffs this year, and see who ends up getting it right in the short term. I would personally expect a 2nd round exit from Doc. Anything more would be overperforming.

@@REAL_SportsTalkso once he gets to the nba finals you gonna give him credit or you gonna say he underperformed even if he gets there and loses to Mike Malone? People on social media are funny these days they say some dumb 💩 have these msm narratives than when the thing they said gets proven wrong none of you casuals come out and admit you were wrong and say you actually made a mistake. I will wait for you to make a video about how you were wrong please when the Bucks make it past 2nd round. I have them in the NBA finals and Doc proving everyone wrong including your small minded ignorant ass. Even if he wins people will give Giannis credit and Dame but not him and than say it was expected and anyone could lead bucks to a chip with that team. Like I said this is what msm does first they doubt you out you down and say you will not do something than when you do it they will say it was someone else not you Thank you have a lovely day

Have you been watching the past couple games? Dame, Lopez, Khris and Giannis have only played together twice in the 12 games under Doc. Bucks are a top 6 defense since doc joined and now bucks are figuring it out

@@REAL_SportsTalk yeah the playoffs when Celtics crumble, Miami doesn’t get lucky this time, Knicks crumble as well and Cavs. What the hell do the Cavs even do?

@@BUCKS12 not much, but Doc is no stranger to crumbling in the playoffs either. My point is that the Bucks will not win in spite of him. No matter how talented they are.

@@REAL_SportsTalk we will see. The clippers were not made to win a chip. Blake griffin, CP3 and Deandre were not gonna get you passed Lebron, Dwade and Warriors. The latest clippers with Kawhi and PG were always hurt and players even said they didn’t wanna be there. 76ers was just sad. He fixed a whole team into a championship contender and then Harden and Embiid sucked ass in the playoffs like they always do. Those were not his fault and this time he’s got Dame and Giannis that always show up and the core has championship experience to win

fair points, but i'm gonna go with Boston in the east. I cant stand that franchise and it damages my soul to say that, but I can't ignore what they have going on up there with their depth and star power. No one on that team is better than Giannis, but they've got studs at every position, and they don't have Doc Rivers. Like I said, I was riding with the Bucks 100% until they picked him up. He's the problem. Hasn't even made a conference finals since Boston if I'm not mistaken.

Buck lose in second round in the most collapse fashion because Choke Rivers want to this season.

That’s my prediction. If he makes it any further into the playoffs, that would be a overperforming.

@REAL_SportsTalk He's has been failure all since leaving Boston. No way he can make it out of Second Round. Especially, he himself a choke artist and also have mental problem.

Honestly the bucks didn’t look great before they got Doc Rivers. I agree Doc was by no means a solution if but watching this team play is hard I’m not gonna lie. I watched them against the grizzlies and it was Giannis putting the team on his back per usual and they were playing 2 way contract players 😂 they just don’t look good. They’re defense is midddddd asf

Sure, but the playoffs aren’t far away. Doc can’t get it done when the lights are brightest. Not in recent history, at least.
