Other advantage that farming freja have over the rotten is that the Duke after the boss respawn, and he drops a fragrant branch, so you can farm fragrant branches while farming souls, also the pale drake soul gives some cool stuff

Power Stance Blue Flames was my favorite build in DS2. Double buffing with CMW absolutely deletes enemy NPCs and Players alike. Draw them in with Crystal Soul Spear, mess them up with CMW Blue Flames, and when they panic roll away, catch them with a Soul Greatsword. It's a beautiful combo.

Blue Flame + Sanctum Shield Gives you the ability to use both magic and Miracles. I have read the Sanctum Shield can also cast hexes but I didn't think to try it on the character I was using at the time, so I'll have to go back and check that.

My favorite weapon from DS2 and my most used, Blue Flame was my path to enjoying the game more. Being able to compensate for so many things like spell stat requirements and limited casts with farmable items like Twilight Herbs and Simpleton's Spice's, I didn't need to level grind and invest in stats like Int and Attunement much at all, and instead was free to invest in Health and Adaptability. So I ended up going through my first playthough with a build that shredded everything in the game (powerstancing two Blue Flames that cast Crystal Magic Weapon on each other) and had much better rolls and quicker Estus usage thanks to my high ADP, and never understood why people disliked it so much. But now I know, I was spoiled by Blue Flame being a goated weapon.
