Great review video, Pete. The setup with the standardised shafts from the outset this year is really paying dividends in the comparable data table you're building up and shown here. It gives as true an impression as possible outside of using a robot too! BTW, I really like the new energy coming into the videos recently. The pep is back in the step and bodes well for a great year of content to come.

They're never do it, but I would love for these companies to some sort of "upgrade plan." Reward your loyal customers. So if you have a ping G425 and want the 430, just bring in the 425 and whatever upgrade fee and you get the 430.

As always a great review and well produced content. The only issue I have and this is pretty consistent across all the top KZbin golf channels is that these drivers are generally being reviewed/hit by scratch golfers/pros that generally are suited to the low spin models which are not going to be suitable for 95% of golfers out there. I would love the inclusion of an 8 handicap and 15 handicap for example to see what differences exist at those levels. I think these latest driver releases are great but as always never worth updating last years model for the large percentage of golfers. Maybe change your driver once every 5 years and you will notice a slight improvement, but never worth the money year on year.

Great review! I have the G425 Max in my bag. LOVE it. Love Ping's support as well. My adjustable weight broke out and they had me send the driver in and sent it back in just a few days. The next time it broke, they replaced the driver. I thought that was overkill but was not complaining. I decided at that point I will probably always have a Ping driver in my bag. Honestly I won't be getting the G430. I paid $500 American dollars for the G425 and can't justify getting another of any driver honestly. Maybe in 5 or 6 years.

As a lifetime mid handicap (14), perhaps average, golfer I would really like to know if you have any intent to show the difference between clubs for those of us in the 80's and 90's club head speeds. I just can't see the difference in drivers out past 300 yards - what I'm looking for is a new club that, at my skill level, could improve from an average of 230 to maybe 240 yards. I have a 425. I love it. It is forgiving, I hit it more accurately and longer than most drivers I've hit or owned. The sound is love or hate.

I bought the g430 lst here in Aus a few weeks back and it was a great upgrade from the g400 (which I still love) massive distance gains for me and good results from off centre strikes. Big investment but worth it for me 👍

I got fitted for a number of drivers over the past year, and the G425 Max came out on top for me. I picked one up a few months ago when the price dropped. I love the look at address, I gained 30 yds on my drives, and I quite like the sound that everyone hates. The look of the G430 doesn't connect with me. I plan to keep the G425 in my bag for probably 5+ years. I can't imagine any driver coming out in the near future that will improve my game by leaps and bounds...except for maybe taking some lessons. Thanks for the great review!

Great analysis. Personally, the G425 Max is just such a beast and so consistent. I play off 3 and certainly won’t be changing it anytime soon, although I will have a hit with the G430, but just not tell the wife.

I have forever been a Taylormade fan but the stealth 2 just doesn’t do it for me anymore. I’m more concerned about forgiveness then carbon. If I had the money I would 100% be after a g425 or g430

Every year we get told by manufacturers that there driver goes further and offers loads of forgiveness etc etc. why do we always see videos of low handicappers testing these? Majority of golfers at clubs have a higher handicap ie 13/15 which some have slices in there game. My question why don’t we have a review from those kind of people as it’s more of an accurate review Great video Pete 😊

Finchy, could we see the dispersion data between the 425 LST and 430 LST? You said on the vid the 430 had "better carry and total distance" but it was slightly shorter on carry. I get the sound improvement but would love to see you quantify the dispersion. Great video as always!

I think that for Ping, The Legend is the G410. Definitely a driver ahead of its time that still fights over its weight class today.

Thanks for the review Pete. I've had the G425 max since launch and loved every minute of it. However, I won a G430 max in a raffle so I've sold the G425. I've heard they are pretty much the same but the G430 sounds miles better. Hopefully that's the case. If not, I guess I'll have a G430 for sale soon. 🤣

Whilst that was my first reaction, it’s got to be said there was zero data in this vid in dispersion/accuracy and comparing all the drivers and their predecessors in that regards. G430 might be best option for higher handicappers if it’s easier to hit and keep the ball in play.

The most exciting thing for me about the release of the G430, was the price drop on new G425's. If you can stomach the sound the max version has to be one of the most forgiving drivers ever.

Just got a new 425 LST at the end of last season when they dropped the price. It was the best for me compared to the other offerings at the time. I enjoyed it at the time but need to get the swing back in the groove as I haven't been hitting regularly through the offseason here in Canada. This was my first new driver in several years and am still excited to get back to it this year. I know it may not be the longest out there, but if it continues to perform how it was for me, I will have no problem. As expected, there doesn't seem enough in the new models to make me really regret the purchase. I am confident it will remain a solid driver for years to come (as long as my swing speed doesn't dip down too far I guess). Still fun to window shop the new shiny toys though 😉

I think we always try and kid ourselves, any gains will be minimal, changing clubs every 4 to 5 years seems the right time. The Calloway seems to be ahead of the pack if you like it’s feel. What i struggle with is paying £600 for a club that will be half the price in 12 months time. Buy them this time next year .

Went to get the new Cobra Aerojet and was hugely disappointed...no control, balls all over the place. Hit the 430... first 5 shots landed within 5 yards of each other. No brainer....bought the 430.

the g425 max is the best driver ever created. I wont be forking out hundreds of pounds to replace it. Yes the fancy carbon drivers from Callaway and TM might go faster and further but I'll be on the fairway more than them with my g425 and at the end of the day that is 100% the most important thing. I'll wait another 2 years for the next ping driver me thinks.

I went and got fitted this past weekend. Open to all drivers. The Ping G430 blew the other drivers away. It wasnt even close. Shot dispersion with with Ping was only 7 yards. Twenty shots, 7 yards!!!!

3 contender for the bag. Although I don't like the look on the top. The way Ping put the carbon into the top really makes the face look thick. The 425 looks better at address with all the same metal on the top.

After having a custom fit , trying the paradym,stealth 2 and the g430 I have to say the ping for me was far more consistent. Couldn't imagine spending £500 on a new driver though so after watching all the reviews I ended up picking up a brand new g425 max for £350. It was a no brainer, saving £150 and getting a club that's not only performing as well if not slightly better than the g430.

I have thr 425 LST, which I never should have had. The fitter ordered the wrong club, I should have had the max and to this day it still upsets me that I spent £450 on something when I was still really quite new to golf and it's made my life a lot harder. That being said, when you get one out the middle, my god does it feel good. I'm not going to swap any time soon as I don't have money to buy a new driver every year, however I think possibly when I've spent another year with it, come next winter I will probably get fitted again and see how the 430 stacks up against the paradigm, but I know I need a max style driver, I just don't hit the centre of the face all the time

Just got my g430 love it. I hated the g425 sound so could never use it. Had stealth which was one the best drivers I got on with but the spin was so low on miss hits would really punish me with dead duck hooks. So the extra spin for me on the g430 was a god send. Being a higher speed player around 160mph I didn't see any drop of in speed which was also a bonus as the stealth was the fastest I've used and tried for myself. Went from average carry of 250 to 274 well impressed.
