Check out the Vivobook Pro series. They're creator laptops but model 2 might have beefier GPUs and they're good sleeper gaming laptops. I mostly use my laptop for work and play mostly older / lightweight games like Civ VI or Disgaea so I bought a Vivobook Pro as it meets all my needs.

Really impressive from such a small laptop. The G14 is its only competitor and it's up to 50% faster graphics wise. Where I live (and probably most of Europe) the G14 and Blade 14 are nearly the same price.

I had the g14 2022 model. It’s actually trash compared to the blade 14 2022. Lots of reviewers are saying it’s better. In tests and limited scope benchmarks I can agree. But I’ll say heat on g14 is a major problem. So is QC. Basically you get what you pay for!

I absolutely loved the G14 but your reasons mentioned above along with about 4 or 5 others made me keep the Razer 14. Getting both in hand lets you see where Asus cut corners...and performance is NOT the same. Jarrod really should have asked for the 3070ti version. It would be a totally different experience. He's going to miss out on so much more battery life and efficiency.

@@saunupe1911 so I wanted to bad to love the G14! I waited and waited to get one. In the end only could get a white one in the USA. Mine had awful backlight bleed. It ran hot as hell doing next to nothing. Battery life was outstanding but performance in games was trash. Couldn’t even handle WARZONE or RDR2 at high frames and stable rates. The screen was nice at 16/10 but really wasn’t anything to write home about. In all it felt cheap plastic and just ran so hot I couldn’t justify the 1700 bucks I spent on it. Went with the blade 14 as the only alternate. My experience has been positive. But not without a few adjustments. 1. Removed all razer software except synapse. 2. Set CPU to 50 % use on power management when on battery. 3. Disabled turbo on battery. Adjusted all start up programs to be disabled. I now get great battery life when on battery but always turn down screen and keyboard lights. The cooling solution is far superior than asus. My screen actually has no backlight bleed. Performance is amazing with NVIDIA DLSS and their other implementations. AMD didn’t even ship the systems with updated bios and drivers. All in all razer all the way build quality is amazing just needed a dbrand skin to prevent scratches. I went with dragon skin on mine. This to say I am impressed. And this is coming from a 10 year ROG vet!

Hi Jarrod, I always watch your videos and I would like to hear your opinion about this. I've just ordered a 5900x for €380, which is an amazing price, especially in my country. I am aware ryzen 7000s are on the way but as you always say "upgrade if you NEED something NOW" and my CPU is often at 100% even after closing every background process. I'm currently on a i5-9600k(6c/6t) with a MSI Z390 Gaming Plus. I think that waiting for Ryzen 7000 would cost a lot of extra money for the new chipset and DDR5, do you agree? In your opinion, is it likely going to be like this? Because if at this price point I'll be able to get just a 6 core cpu with an overpriced board I can say I got a good deal on the 5900x for €380(I know core count is not everything but I care about multitasking). Are there any factors that could make AM5 affordable right away or my thought process makes sense from a money-saving perspective?

I will always be impressed with these 14" machines. Especially the Blade 14. I keep routing for the G14 to catch up, but it looks like at this point Razer is still the 14" king. And by a safe margin too. I wish they'd be more reasonable with the price, but again no one else is making them anywhere near as powerful. So they can charge whatever they want. I know Razer would hate the idea, but you should definitely try to get your hands on the 3070Ti model too. For $900 less I imagine that will be the model to get. Plus it would be an Apples to Apples comparison than against the G14. Really if Razer would just bump up the Ram to 32Gb I'd honestly not have anything negative to say besides the price.

Ryzen 9 destroys I7 and bc the power limit of the 3070 is lower they may be very comparable to a higher watt 3060

A low power 3070 is about even with a high power 3060 (I know Hardware Unboxed compared those two power configurations in their laptop 3070 review from about a year ago. I think Jarrod did a similar comparison, but I can't remember for sure.) The only caveat to this is if you are playing a game where the VRAM difference matters (6 gb in the 3060 vs. 8 gb in the 3070), in which case the 3070 will perform better. For gaming, 11th gen Intel is generally superior to 5th gen Ryzen, while Ryzen has the edge in productivity and battery life (see Jarrod's video comparing the 11800h and 5800h in the same laptop chassis from last year.) I think I would lean towards the 3060 machine, being $100 cheaper for similar performance and better battery life. Lenovo's Legion laptops are among the best for build quality as well, so that might be another point in favor of the 3060.

Need an advice - every time I unplug my Zephyrus G15(2021) the image loses color quality and contrast(I think). Because of that I'm loathe to use it unplugged, ever. If you want a 3060 laptop, Legion 5 Pro is a much better choice than Legion 7. While M16 is a good laptop, it has a much lower TGP for GPU, so you won't get the performance you would expect from such an expensive laptop so it isn't worth in my opinion.
