Every expansion nowadays follows the same pattern. Releasing overpowered cards. 2-4 weeks after release, bring out a patch to nerf those cards. I am now long past the stage where I think this is due to too little testing by Bizzard. This is a conscious marketing strategy. Deliberately creating a hype and an incentive to ensure that (more) cards/packs are purchased.

It's like this since the game was released, also since you can shard for full price the nerfed card f2p people just are cautious with dust meanwhile who bought the pre order usually doesn't have issue with crafting decks, it's not a marketing thing because if it was it's not working that great

They already said that rather release broken card than weak ones because nerfing cards is way easy than buffing.

It's not done at all to make people buy packs. 1st you can just craft any of these cards then when they get nerfed you get all your dust back so in reality you spent nothing. So how does that make me buy packs? 2nd Making cards more powerful at first is better designed choice and even themselves have expressly stated this, because it's way easier to balance after the fact since nerfing is easier than buffing. 3 Cards been powerful changes the Meta and makes the opening experience of new expansion more fun, so it's about making it fun. None of this has to do with buying packs as the reason to doing this. If that was the real goal they would remove entirely the dust refund system and make sure you need to fomo for the cards by only buying packs.

@@thek838 You are very wrong. 1) One nerfed card can ruin the whole deck so refunding one card won't recoup the dust that you spent to create the deck. 2) It is better for the devs. It has little impact on it being good or bad for the players. 3) Nope, Boomboss being stupidly polarizing card did not make my pack opening any more exciting. What it did it made my playtime frustrating many a time when Boomboss manages to delete all of my remaining resources. At best it's a wash: OP cards make it fun who people who enjoy them and make it miserable for everyone that do not. I do not understand how you fail to understand the basic of game design when it comes to CCGs: you create powercreep so people can't just use their old decks and the more OP the new cards are the more people will want to get them. And if your deck gets nerfed into the ground, well I guess you need to grab your credit card again. And one last thing: yes, you can craft cards with dust but, and that might surprise you, dust does not fall from the sky, it is very limited resources that dwindles if you need to disenchant cards (for example when your deck gets nerfed and you need to get a new one). And most people cannot spend many hours each week to play just so they can stay ahead of the dust curve. The rewards are more plentiful in HS that they used to be but you still need to spend lotsa money every 4 months or spend lotsa time griding for cards/dust. And yes, they could remove dust but the game needs a playerbase and Hearthstobe's is ever dwindling. Forcing most of your F2P players to stop playing sounds like a stupid move.

Cheese cannot give you titan... No random effect can ever add titan to hand or summon one (targetted effects can though)

The tourist mechanic is confusing and it comes with major limitations on deck building + pulling/crafting legendaries. Would have much rather had more dual class cards! I am excited for the set regardless.

14:00 I do understand Investigator Dora's opinion but I do believe all expansions this year will have call backs to past mechanics and may resemble previously released cards due to this year being the 10th year of Hearthstone. Next year better have some fresh ideas though 🙃

I've seen no mention of the Rogue card, Swarthy Swordshiner. But a 3/3/3 that turns your weapon into a 3/3 is imba. Air guitarist+1x weapon poison on a 3/3 is nuts and mind you is a tool to extend the life of any rogue weapon that would otherwise need it. Assuming you dagger turn 2, the weapon will deal 10 damage for 5 mana. Weapon buffs are already going undetected in gameplay. But as of right now rogue has 4 spells that buff weapon damage. I'm currently running air guitarist and the rogue shovel in my aggro decks because of how op it is to add durability to rogue weapons. Now blizzard is giving me a consolidated option that rogue can tutor out??? Op

This is the least exciting expansion of the last 3 years for me. The theme, the tourist gimmick, the recycling, and even the artwork just seem worse than anything in recent memory.

There was a huge uproar about the quests etc yet i am extremely surprised as to why there isnt one about the idle xp farm nerf. Maybe people feel guilty, like they were gaming the system and so they shouldn't speak about it? The idle xp farm nerf is a H-U-G-E change. It was a thing that was tolerated by Blizzard and allowed people to play without needing to spend a lot. It was a way to balance the cost of playing the game for people who were willing to put in the time to farm the xp. Personally i used to "just" buy the season pass, which was me giving something to Blizzard while not having to spend a lot on the very bad minimum wage that i'm making. It feels like i (and many other people like me) in the next expansions people will have to either quit, play with A LOT less variety or pay money that they shouldn't spend for games because of it. This is a change that may very well in the long term contribute to the playerbase becoming less ...and it should definetely be highlighted. It was kinof like how microsoft tolerated pirated windows copies. Hearthstone is definetely bigger because of it.

Shaman tourist for dk is useless.. no synergy and bad cards for the class. A lot of bad cards in the set. A push for rainbow and no triple rune support, a class still to restrictive where everyone will again play the same 2 decks in the end

I think you should add a ratting to how much the class has access to this type of effect. For exemple, the draw 3 warlock card will probably not be played because pain warlock already have some great draw tools. (And also too big minions) and control warlock doesn't need that much draw. Maybe it will be played later in the year.

The problem I have with Eliza, ironically, isn't the effect. Its the Runes. I HATE the fact that the Rune system, instead of a fun deckbuilding tool and an interesting design challenge, has just been relegated to a way for them to superficially limit cards while not bothering to change the design.(I mean, why the hell is the Headless Horseman not a generic DK Hero card? Its NOT that OP, especially compared to Reno, Lone Ranger which has been nerfed TWICE and is still one of the most powerfull cards ever printed) They made Eliza a Blood and Frost card to prevent interaction with Unholy, but completely ignored the fact that Rainbow still has plenty of Deathrattle abuse up its sleeve Plus, while I do love Rainbow DK, it has been getting TOO MUCH support. Triple Frost and Blood are DEAD in Standard right now and Triple Unholy is hanging by a thread thanks to the Plague strategy. Its a mess and most of the carss fof the last 2 , now 3, expansions have done nothing to alleviate it.

This set pretty much secures me not playing until at least 2026. After such stellar years in 2022 and 2023, 2024 has been attempted nostalgia that has utterly constricted play instead. Having to nerf cards soon after release ad infinitum is not good sign.

I was *really* disappointed with Shaman's cards tbh. Not only way I expecting more Fire themed cards, but there's maybe 1 or 2 cards for Shaman that DK could *MAYBE* actually want enough to give up a slot in the deck for the Tourist Legendary. And that's a *strong* maybe. Shaman in Standard has just been insanely weak , at least compared to a lot of other strategies that are still around, ever since Nathria rotated and its kind of annoying.

I've been following this channel since Titans expansion, congratulations on the videos being so informative, and fun,also for criticism when necessary, I played Hearthstone since 2016, stopped and got back in 2023, I got to Diamond in wild 3 times, in Titans, Badlands, and now in Workshop, after so long time, because of my love for the game . I believe Hearthstone is the best card game in the history of mankind, both mechanically and visually, but unfortunately, like all card games, it is imperfect . Things I find imperfect in the game . Secrets in general Kingsbane Shudderwock Elwynn Boar Resurrection Astral Automaton Warlock reverse damage Earn armor=attack for the rest of the game Infinite mage spells face damage no defense Murlocs infinite generation Druid burning your deck Minions with giant status costing very little mana . The game is imperfect due, creative divergence, or negligence on the part of the company, it's imperfect in the cost of the cards, the favor of some classes over others, early game table difference, and even the "random generation" is broken intentionally . Not being able to counter moves, due to being killed in one turn, thanks to the "build up, for the moment of victory" or being drained by many minions at the beginning of the game, or a weapon that you can't do anything with, not being able to draw good cards because you didn't pay to have them, it's unfair, I don't feel like playing, but rather being oppressed . I understand that the RPG's atmosphere has Lowrolls and Highrolls, but why do I always have to fall against people who have a more appealing deck than mine? People who paid to have access to the most unfair cards in the game? And streamers don't take a stand? After so many years? In this open letter, I ask, please, no more foul play . I love your work on this channel, and I would like to meet the people behind the voices, But if I never see you in person, here's my thanks for making some fun of my tiring attempt to have fun, in an unbalanced and counterintuitive game . Hi, Thank you for your kind words and your passion for the game. If we speak very conditionally, then it seems to me that now everything is not so bad with the competitive environment. Yes, it is not ideal, yes there are a lot of problems, but in the conditions of the current level of Power creep, the developers are doing a good job. You returned to the game at a good moment. The Hearthstone team has been making fewer mistakes over the last 2 years. I hope the new expansion doesn't ruin this trend. But in my opinion things are not going well for Wild and I'm not sure that can be fixed.

I only ask that Hearthstone is less predictable, and that I don't know that I'm going to lose depending on the cards played on turn number 1 . I admit the standard mode isn't that much broken, and I think after so many cards, creating new mechanics and interactions is difficult for the team, how to do new things without making the classes unequal, at the same time not making you feel like you're playing the same cards, but with different hero portraits. Standard mode is somewhat fair, as they are the most recent cards, but there are copies of wild cards, and unacceptable things, the community should engage more, and ask for changes, but no one wants to weaken their game, when their favorite class is winning

I really don't see any new archetypes in this expansion more like they've improved some already existing decks like Dora said in the previous video tourist is akin to dual class cards that benefit just only one so in the end most of those cards are just a waste of space .
