Ashnod the Uncaring is definitely the commander I'm most excited about. However I'm really looking forward to seeing how far someone can push the limits of The Archimandrite.

Already working on a list for it. Definitely got Augustus and the new 3 drop urza in it. Thinking of having teferi who slows the sunset be the golden pig for untap shenanigans. Honestly just surprised that they printed another commander who works with life gain and card draw after printing Shanna literally a set ago.

I think Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist has a lot more potential than you're giving her credit for. Sure, you have to build around her, but throw in some artifacts that make tokens and she'll keep them powered. Soon as I saw all the powerstone stuff I knew it was time for my factory to return! Prototype Portal, Maskwood Nexus, Spawning Pit... hell, throw a Nuisance Engine in, why not? XD Even just using some mana filters can make that extra mana do a lot of work, hopefully I can snag her at prerelease ^.^

I agree, Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist pays for her ability with the powerstones, so after attacking 5 times, you basically get a creature for free each turn. The down side is that you need to have creatures on your graveryard, and there's a ton of graveyard hate in EDH, also attacking 5 times means you're at least on turn 6, so it's a lot of turns... that last one is part con and pro, because with so many turns you probably have a ton of creatures on your graveyard. Final point, if you play this commander, you need the altar: sac a creature, generate 2, now pay 3 and exile the creature you just sacrificed and you get a 3/3 zombie... if the creature is for instance an Eyetwitch, you get to discard a dead card in your hand to draw a new one... a ton of value!

Urza, Powerstone Prodigy and Ashnod, Flesh Mechanist are definitely more at home in the 99. They play a huge role in my Lazav, the Multifarious deck.

I think I'm going with "Mishra, Eminent One" as the commander I'm most exited for. Not only does it fit really well as the commander for a mechanized production deck I've been wanting to make, but also has potential for a deck using energy counters (aether heart being the strongest example but not the only one) and maybe even more then any of those its ability to functionally get a second Thrumming Stone in play means it could be crazy with any of the cards that let a deck have any number of them... its even in the right colors for any of the current cards like that

Personally I’d put Urza Chief Artifcer in low-A tier. I think his constructs being about to get buffed by any artifacts is what does that for me. Yeah, board-wipes suck, but in Esper colors there’s so many ways to give indestructible, phasing out. Anyhow, love the video.

I purchased the Precon for Chief Artificer, and really the only issue are board wipes. The affinity for artifact creatures makes him easy to beam out, but sadly, if your opponents know what happens how stupid menace is on creatures that just get bigger they’ll just slap your teeth in.

I got lucky and actually opened an Urza, Lord Protector today. On the back though it only has the top half of the planeswalker card, it’s very interesting.

I disagree on baby-Ursa. I feel like powerstones get underestimated because they can only be tapped to cast artifact. If you build around it, you can create 2, 3 powerstones a turn which is pretty powerful in my opinion You can build up to isochron scepter easily and loot your whole deck and find a kill Even without any other ways to discard an artifact I feel to create a powerstone each turn is pretty darn powerful, and deserves at least C tier

Mono black Ashnod is going to surprise some people. Harbin being WU allows you to go wide and protect your board. I think he's pretty dece, certainly better than new Feldon.

Personally, my only S tier pick for the set has to be Urza, Prince of Kroog. Yes his activated ability costs a lot but with so many ways to create infinite mana plus activated ability cost reducers, he'll go absolutely insane with a ham sandwich. Plus with Azorius having so much protection for the board, it's a shoo in for the archenemy spot at your table. I was right about codie, I was right about alaundo, and hopefully my intuition won't fail me on this one.
